I don't know if this is your thing, but there are some free podcasts on iTunes that gives tips on photography and photoshop. They may help further your exploration into photography. You don't even need an iPod to get them.

I started getting into photography when I was your age, and ended up taking senior portraits for a few of my friends. I took them with a decent digital camera back then, but nowadays you can get a loaded SLR for $600. These were $2500 in 2003.

My girlfriend got a tattoo of a picture of orchids I took...I lost 7 rolls of film that I took of Arabian sunsets, Thai Buddhists Temples, trees and flowers in a rainforest on Phuket Island, some views from way up on Victoria Peak in Hong Kong, and a series of pictures as I got closer and closer to Lion Rock Hill in Hong Kong. But they all got stolen by the minions of the underworld of the lost........Now I have to eventually go back to those places with my digital camera and do it all over again which I wouldn't mind cause I wanna get some pics of the lion statues in Thailand and Hong Kong......

losses like that you always regret. the first time i ever used a nice camera was at my first and only Rolling Stones concert. the film that was already in the camera i got pics of Thorogood but i changed it before the Stones came on n i loaded it wrong . now i have a canon s3is and Tess has a Kodak c653. she def has the better eye for good shots and hardly ever leaves home without her camera. i need to take her to Mt. Hope Cemetery, the older sections there are great for taking pictures. in fact, i just took my son for a walk n someone showed me pics they took there, in 3 days it will be officially 175 years old.
