Goat Abuse may change Florida law
Goat abuse sparks outcry
The case of a goat who was raped and killed has prompted a push for a bill that would outlaw bestiality in Florida. Posted on Fri, Jan. 04, 2008 BY MARC CAPUTO Miami Herald After a goat was raped and killed in a Panhandle town, animal activists, police and citizens were almost as shocked to find out that bestiality isn't a crime in Florida. But it might be soon. A Sunrise state senator and a St. Petersburg representative have filed legislation to make it a first-degree felony to have sex with animals or promote or advertise bestiality. ''It's true. It's sick. There needs to be a law,'' said Democratic Sen. Nan Rich, a longtime crusader for children and animal rights. ``There are 30 states that make this a crime. Florida isn't one of them.'' Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, who called the situation ''unbelievable,'' said Thursday he would sign the bill into law if it made it to his desk. Rich said she was as shocked as she was disgusted when she learned of the rape and asphyxiation last year of a family pet goat named Meg -- who was pregnant with twins -- in the town of Mossy Head in rural Walton County. A suspect in the case, a 48-year-old man, is serving an 11-month, 29-day jail sentence on animal-theft charges in connection with the attempted abduction of another goat in a separate case, according to Walton County Assistant State Attorney James Parker. Parker said he couldn't prosecute the suspect in the death of Meg because DNA samples taken with a sheriff's office rape kit were inconclusive. Parker said he asked the Florida Department of Law Enforcement last week to retest the evidence. But even if there's a DNA match, Parker said the suspect could only be charged with misdemeanor trespassing and animal cruelty, a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison. Parker said the suspect could not be arrested for bestiality because it isn't a crime. The prosecutor added that the man is ''definitely a suspect'' because he was arrested trying to take another person's goat Feb. 3 shortly after Meg was choked to death from her collar that had been tightly held around her neck. OK, rape is one thing. But what if they're in love?

And here was me thinking "Dont let a horse fuck you in the ass" was pretty much common sense.
Once again the human race baffles me.

Sex with horse proves fatal; ban sought
In the months since a Seattle man gained international notoriety for suffering fatal injuries while having sex with a horse near Enumclaw, his relatives still are coming to grips with what happened. One relative of the 45-year-old man said he plans to write a letter to legislators in support of a law making bestiality illegal. Last month, James Tait pleaded guilty to criminal trespass in the July 2 incident. The charge stems from the night he and the Seattle man went onto a neighbor's property near the farm where Tait lived in the Enumclaw area, to have sex with a horse there. Tait videotaped the sex, according to court papers. Tait, 54, helped run a business where people could have sex with animals, according to the King County Sheriff's Office. Tait was given a one-year suspended sentence on condition he pay a $300 fine, perform eight hours of community service and have no contact with the horse's owners. State Sen. Pam Roach, R-Auburn, said she plans within the first two weeks of the 2006 legislative session to unveil a measure making bestiality a felony. — Jennifer Sullivan From: Local News | A year of law & disorder | Seattle Times Newspaper |

That was an abusive stallion, and there is no excuse for that. But that shouldn't ruin it for the rest of us! |

How the hell do you "come to grips" with the fact that a family member had sex with a horse and had his ass so ruined that it was fatal?

Can you REALLY rape a goat?? REALLY?? I mean, if you ask me the goat wanted it, dressed like a whore, and pranced around shaking it's ass. I mean, lets face it, the goat is quicker and faster than that dude, and could have avoided it had it REALLY wanted to. Every time a goat gets fucked and killed, man always gets frowned upon. The goat is a martyr, knowing full well it was going to be taken advantage of yet chose to remain in the circumstance. It's time we start looking at these goats to blame and the onus must fall on them at some point. IT"S AN OUTRAGE!!!!!

Two questions:
1. If someone is sick enough to fuck an animal, and criminal enough to abduct it in the first place, what is the likelihood of this law affecting their actions? 2. If it costs the taxpayers $100k to get this thing passed, wouldn't that money be better spent on a task force to catch pedophiles, or something of that nature?

Yeah, you'd be in a lot of trouble with your male sheep......I mean not only bestiality but gay bestiality.....
"We are like tenant farmers chopping down the fence around our house for fuel when we should be using Natures inexhaustible sources of energy — sun, wind and tide. ... I'd put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power! I hope we don't have to wait until oil and coal run out before we tackle that."
