Question Honest Opinions Please...

O.K., my buddy is in the process of starting up a company selling t-shirts, stickers, skate decks, etc...
Here's the first 4 designs we've come up with... let me know what you think.

I'm three steps ahead of you. Immediately after typing my interest in the first and last one, I went straight to my portable t shirt maker and made a few hundred. Zumiez already has boxes of them ordered. lol

All joking aside, when I am not required to wear a shirt and tie, I typically wear shirts like these. Let me know when you have some made, I really like some of the designs.

Very cool

All I can think of though is Rage Against the Machine.

Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

I like 2 and 4....4 is more powerful, IMO. Although it would be cool if you could incorporate the rifle in the hand instead of the mallet.

The red and black pop...nice communist feel. Well, maybe not nice, but impressionable.

What's it for? Revival of the Soviet Union?

They look good, with the exception of the third one, if I may say so.

How are you incorporating them into the t-shirts (ie. what colour are the shirts)?

Thnaks for all the input everyone.
It's funny the one I spent the most time on (the third one) is the one most people dislike....
But I agree, I prefer the simpler designs as well.

I don't know why, but my buddy really likes the Soviet imagery, I can't say for sure on the final designs for the shirts (he has final say... I'm just a guy who draws stuff) , but I believe the color will most likely be black.
Personally I'm hoping for some offset graphics, maybe some sleeve prints...

I believe it's going to be mainly internet based, however, he was looking into distibutors. I don't really have all the facts yet.

I really like the designs; they are really eye catching. The third is my least favorite.

How are you going to get the designs on the shirts? Nowadays, screen printing makes them like every other shirt. If it's just a pet project for fun, then screen printing is fine. But if he's planning on making money off of this venture, then I would suggest he distinguish himself somehow. I have a few friends who made the newspaper at their college for this type of thing. They paint designs onto shirts and pants with some kind of cloth paint. Very time consuming, but not like every other kid and their little brother's shirt business idea. This is why shirts like Affliction appeal to some people.. they aren't the typical screen printed shirts; their designs cover parts of the shirt typical screen printing doesn't.

I dunno...doubtful, he emailed most of it to me for some input , except the one everyone seems to dislike... that one's all my own.
There's a few more in the works that are 100% my artwork that if I can finish them the way they look in my mind will be supercool. Well, I think so anyway, I'll post some of it when I get some more work done.
