As someone who sells on Ebay that's a good thing, but shopping for a bargain is not fun anymore.

Is it just me, or is Ebay no longer any fun? Used to be somewaht challenging, and you could come away with a few good deals. Now it seems to be loaded with professional E-snipers.
I started a bid out on an item at around $30.00, and along comes this jackass who immediately bids $110.00. What the hell kind of bidding is that? Of course, by bids end, the item will go for $500.03.
Any experiences or input?

I used money from ebay to buy my elite membership.
true story.

I've purchased a good many things off eBay at very good prices. You just need to know what a good price is for a given item and how to play the last 60 seconds of trading.
I open up five tabs in Firefox and enter in five progressively higher bids but I don't submit them. I wait until the last 30 seconds and submit from lowest until highest until I'm the top bid.
Sometimes I have to pass because the price moves to close the retail price of an item, but I eventually find an item at the price that I want to pay.

about another group that actually does something
to improve their lives.

Sometimes you get lucky sometimes you don't, YOU must be the sniper. Common sense tells you, if everyone keeps bidding days before an items auction ends - its going to keep going up.

Seems to me the eBay lost a lot of its mystique and fun when there were more and more ways to just sell for a set price.
