Muxtape
Found this awesome website where you can upload songs and make a good ol' fashioned mixtape to spread the music you like.
You can only store one at a time, theyre non-searchable on the site, theres a limit of one track per artist per tape, and each MP3 must be under 10mb, so its pretty legit.
Its a web-based player so they're non-downloadable, also.
I used to love mix tapes and later, mix CDs, so this site is right up my street. The only way people can get to hear these things is by word of mouth, so heres mine:
beachedfail.muxtape.com
Currently Trance/Chillout stuff, and all the songs are the first tracks off the album they're from.
Post some tapes, y'all. I need new music.

Once you get the hang of a particular program its not so bad.
I use Reason for a lot of things. You can use a MIDI keyboard for it pretty easily, and there are so many damned devices in it that youll never be stuck for an instrument.
Take a look at it, hell - im not a very good musician and i've still written a few tunes that i like. I dont even use an actual MIDI keyboard, i input all the notes with the mouse, lol.

....by mouse????
That would take a looonnng time for any half complex piano arrangement. Also, you lack the velocity control that you get from playing keys harder and softer that it picks up utomatically with a keyboard.
However, having heard some of your stuff it's not holding you back, at all.
Reason owns. Only thing it lacks is real time audio recording/ sequencing like other soft studios. That can be amended by running something like Sonar off it as a slave, but it's virtual instruments are great.
BTW good mix Gaz. Particuarly Crystal method's Trip like i do. Quality.![]()

It does, take far too long sometimes. Luckily for some things i can add delays and echos, now and again ill go to the dark side and use an arpeggiator for the really boring background parts, and theres always copy and paste if it gets too boring
The velocity is a problem, though. You can edit it manually, but like you say when you've got a complex part or arrangement you really dont wanna be changing it for EVERY damned note. Thats one draw back with me being ham-fisted with keyboard playing
I know! Tell me about it! If Reason had an audio interface i would buy the thing three times over, it would be the perfect program for music. The drum samples in it are great, so you could literally record anything in it.
Can you imagine the awesomeness of being able to patch guitar tracks through virtual devices?
Logic has all of this of course, but it's for the fucking Mac
Lol, thanks.
The transitions between tracks were good untill the last few where i couldnt be bothered. I like the tracks though.
Oh and, Vegas =![]()

If you get a copy of Sonar (or cubase v4.0 onwards) which is exspensive ***cough ebay cough***,
you can use the 'rewire' function to integrate it into Reason for that
purpose. You can use Ableton too, but it's different, a loop based sequencer, which is fucking awesome.
I won't be uploading at the moment, but here's some of the tracks I might consider off the top of my head:
Chemical Bros - Acid Test
Zero 7 - Give it away
Air - La femme d'argent
Royksopp - So Easy
Death in Vegas - Dirge
UNKLE - Drums of death pt1
William Orbit - Ogvie
Aim - Cold water music
Orbital - Hacylon
Proppelorheads - California
etc.....
