What was the basis for making that choice?

Entitled? No. Americans in general are so stupid that they vote for rich fucks who don't care about them except for a couple of years of campaigning.

Then again I also feel that these campaigns are fucking stupid. I want to see good honest debates and nothing more. Spending 30 million dollars on propaganda commercials is disgusting.

I think some have missed the word "program" in the question.

As defined by Dr. Paul M. Johnson.....

"The kind of government program that provides individuals with personal financial benefits (or sometimes special government-provided goods or services) to which an indefinite (but usually rather large) number of potential beneficiaries have a legal right (enforceable in court, if necessary) whenever they meet eligibility conditions that are specified by the standing law that authorizes the program. The beneficiaries of entitlement programs are normally individual citizens or residents, but sometimes organizations such as business corporations, local governments, or even political parties may have similar special "entitlements" under certain programs. The most important examples of entitlement programs at the federal level in the United States would include Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, most Veterans' Administration programs, federal employee and military retirement plans, unemployment compensation, food stamps, and agricultural price support programs."

Does the Presidency include perks and special privilages? Sure.

Is the President entitled to these? I vote nope.

Yes, it is an entitlement program. If you qualify for president(aka you were elected) then you are entitled to partake in the wide variety of entitlements that go along with it.

I don't get the point of this thread.

I don't get the point of this thread.

You have to be ENTITLED to be elected. That's the "program." When the constitution was drafted with those qualifications, a woman couldn't run for President - she couldn't even file the petitions. Nor could a citizen of color, because they were legally only considered a "fraction" of a "man." So, essentially, it was a program created by the Founders initially to ensure that only members of their legal class could be the President, especially at a time when you not only had to be a white male of a certain age just to vote, but had to be recognized as a property owner as well.

I already knew all of this. But, you are aware that it is no longer like that, right?

These are the qualifications that I was aware of:

Qualifications for the Office of President of the United States

If you qualify for the above , then you are "entitled" to run for president.
So again, I don't know what the point of this thread is. Or, maybe I just don't follow this thread's definition of entitlement program.

Are we talking like a Prince is entitled to be king when his father dies or entitled like certain people who meet the criteria are allowed the right to run for Presidency? We seem to be arguing different definitions here....

wait a minute, you mean a rich motherfucker that is born into money, goes to an ivy league college because his parents are rich, etc., etc., etc. - I did not think you were so naive to think that people like GWB worked their ass off to get where they are.

George Bush is no more entitled that anyone else. He played the system, made the right contracts, and took the right kickbacks to make it to the top.

That's like people saying that such-and-such only won the title of Mr. Olympia because they took steroids. Sure he took steroids, and sure Bush came from wealth, but neither put the man at the top. That man did the right things.

Truly, a stupid assumption to make.

Yes Arnold did the right things. but Bush would've never had a shot if he was born into the right family and had the right support team or maybe I and many like me are just to alert to notice he had no other credentials to be President....

Bullshit. That's like saying that Arnold only made it to Mr. O because he's a man.
