The People You Envy, What is it That You Envy?

Of the people you know and envy, what is it about them that you envy?

Is it their financial success, looks, their ability to attract the opposite sex, their outgoingness, athleticism, their intelligence, outlook on life, ability to handle stress and problem solve? What is it?

Do you try to emulate them?

I don't know about envy, but there are lots of people who I respect and aspire to become more like.

I have tried to ignore the impulse to be envious at people who have things I want. It would eat at you if you go down that path. It is one big reason why I hate shopping or driving by car dealerships. Id rather enjoy what I have than to constantly think "I wish I had that but can't afford it, or I wish I was driving that car rather than my POS.

This is one thing that motivates me to continue to work hard. I don't think it is that difficult to succeed financially in life, as long as one has good work ethic and ambition, and chooses to utilize their resources properly. In my eyes, continuous improvement is key; never be content with what you have.

I envy the rich. But it's not the type of envy that leads to "they shouldn't have it if I don't!' crap. It's what motivates me to be rich. I still have a way to go, but I've also come a hell of a long way already. It's only a matter of time.

To fuel that on, I watch shows like High Net Worth and visit sites that are on the same topic.

People with great work ethic. I was always a lazy kid, so people said, but throughout my life i tried to fix that. I have come a long way, i bust my ass, but in some ways i'm still lazy. I envy people who can grind it out each and every day. I've met very few people like that in my life and those that i know that are able to do that are my motivators/idols, what have you.

In my youth i used to envy money and kids who pulled girls and cars etc etc. It wasn't until i realized all those things come with a good work ethic and most people that have those things are handed them on a silver platter. I learned to never judge people by things they can't change and admire people who are able to influence great change in their lives by sheer iron will. Those are the things that i envy.

I envy youth for their athletic abilities...

And I envy those who have natural abilities...

I envy those who can deal with crisis' and not stress a lick.

I am envious of those who have a great life with money and material possesions... As long as the are not arrogant.
(this usually means someone who lucked into or earned their own money
Not someone who comes from money.)

I tend not to associate with the "from money" types... I appreciate the working man and the idiot who gets lucky
