Barack Obama tells backers fear card is Republicans' primary weapon

Barack Obama is warning supporters that his detractors' chief weapon of choice will be the fear card - insisting they will portray him and his wife as "scary."
At a Chicago fund-raiser Thursday night, Obama laughed when he noticed supporter Rick Fizdale wearing a self-made nametag that read "Rick Hussein Fizdale." Obama's middle name is Hussein, a frequent source of right-wing derision.
"The theory was, we're all Hussein," said Obama, telling the crowd about his donor's decision to place Hussein on his nametag.
"But that accurately captures, I think, the strategy," he continued. "Come on. They're going to try to make me into a scary guy. They're even trying to make [wife] Michelle into a scary person."
For months, Obama has been deflecting false rumors that he's Muslim. Obama's decision not to wear a flag lapel pin during most of the primary sparked repeated questions about his patriotism.
"And so that drumbeat - we're not sure if he's patriotic or not, we're not sure if he is too black," Obama said. "Before I wasn't black enough. Now he might be too black."
Aides to John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee, said the Arizona senator is committed to running an above-board campaign.
"Sen. John McCain is committed to running a respectful race about the issues," insisted spokesman Tucker Bounds.
At a February rally in Ohio, McCain repudiated an introduction by a local radio host who repeatedly used Obama's middle name.
Fizdale, a retired advertising executive who is Jewish, said he put Hussein on his nametag as a sign of solidarity.
"If Barack, who I support, is going to be tarred with the Hussein brush, then, I am a Hussein also," Fizdale said. "It's just a sign of solidarity in recognition of how silly those Hussein comments are."
At McCain's town hall meeting at Federal Hall in lower Manhattan Thursday night, a woman wore a shirt that read, "Obama bin Lyin'," a clear reference to World Trade Center terrorist mastermind Osama Bin Laden.
Team McCain denounced the shirt's message.
"There's no place in this campaign for that type of misrepresentation," Bounds said. "It does not reflect the type of campaign that is being run here."

Utah company under fire for naming sock monkey after Barack Obama

Critics are accusing a Utah company of "pure racism" for selling a sock monkey named for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama over the Internet.
The company, Sock Obama LLC, called the toy "cute and cuddly" and says it did not mean to anger anyone.
The toy, the company said, is "a charming association between a candidate and a toy we had when we were little."
However, Jeanetta Williams, president of the local Utah chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, called the toy "pure racism at its extreme."

As for the "fear factor" there will be more nastiness to comes from the corporate right-wingers as the election nears.

Lies will stick with some voters. In a close election, all the mud thrown against the wall is needed.

There is a huge pool or "low-info" voters: Low-info voters are people who don't read a lot nor follow politics closely, but they go to the polls and vote.

There will be much fear directed at the low-info voters.

Wow, I dont even know where to start. That is a steaming pile of bullshit though. I could pick it apart but those who actually think its the truth are to far gone to change. But off the top of my head "I am voting Republican so I can have my child in classes of at least 30 people" is so backwards its not even funny.
