The funny thing is you see a lot of people from the city working in Long Island...low wages..so low that the people from the Suburbs won't even bother to apply for.
I am assuming the LI jobs are services and service sector.

The jobs are in, or very close to Manhatten.

Same as where I'm from. It's a dilemma. (Depending on where one lives and/or where one wants to live.)

In East Asia many nations don't like foreigners. But they need them for certain jobs.

"Necessary Evil," is what I call this mentality.

And yes, it's hypocritical for those in LI or anywhere, to be against them, but use their cheaper labor.

Well, if you want to drive down the street or the highway, you are dependent upon Washington to spend money maintaining the roads. Given the irresponsible financial behavior of Republicans in regards to infrastructure in this country (though they have no problem using the public credit card to build and rebuild infrastructure in other countries) I think it is the rest of the American public who is wondering when we get to decide how our tax dollars are spent - and why they aren't spent in America.

Obviously we understand that conservatives view patriotism as little more than the freedom to line their own pockets.
