Here's another good reason to support him: He's strong on national defense.

What an ignorant response. You should be ashamed of yourself. Calling a vet scum. But really what can I expect from our future. Asshole.

I'll tell you why I would have voted for him.

He isn't a republican. I am sick to my stomach at republicans for what has happened in the last 8 years...not just the war, but everything. That alone would have won my vote, but for the 3rd fucking time in my voting life, the democrats are putting up a candidate so fucking weak that I won't know who I will vote for until the minute I place my vote.

I do realize. But we are talking about presidential election, not congress.

I still confused how obama can say he was against the war since he wasn't in any national position to vote against it from the start?

You're either white or wrong.

McCain being a Vet should be an issue be it positive or negative. It was a long time ago. McCain is not special nor above anyone else because he was a flunky pilot in 'Nam. He got shot down. It's in the past.

I hope he's not trying to be play the "vet card." It does appeal to certain demographic groups.

The vet card has a lot more merit than the race card, which is what Obama is riding on. Being a vet is a choice, race is immutable. One is an achievement, the other isn't.

I don't like McCain, I probably won't vote for him, but you have to give the guy credit. He spent five years getting tortured while Democrats like Obama spit on soldiers. To this day he can't do his own hair, can't lift his arms above shoulder height. I'd say he has earned a little respect.

I missed a world in my post. "I should NOT be an issue."

Wrong. False

Democrats did not spit soldiers, nor returning soldiers. There is no evidence of 1. returing soldiers being spit on (although it probably happened in rare cases under certain circumstances.) The soldiers being spit on is largely an Urban Myth.

2. "Democrats like Obama spit on soldiers." Let's say that registered voting Democrats did spit on returning soldiers. This would have been 35-40 years ago, from 1968 to 1973. Obama was less than 10 years old then. This was a diffrent era. The Democrats of then are different than today. The Democrats of 15 years ago are different than today, same as the GOP differences.

Clemson, you make a lot of over-generalizations. Read more, before you post.
