So, does the ad campaign compel you to move to S.C.?![]()

Okay Chronno.....YOUR TURN, HONEY!

I didn't appreciate how great SC was until I left. The land and housing is cheap, the people are nice, there is plenty of opportunity for anyone who doesn't act like a total scumbag criminal. You've got the mountains in the NW and the beach in the east. Lake Murray is smack in the middle and it is pretty awesome. Lake Jocassee is the most beautiful place on earth, hands down. Charleston and Hilton Head are great.
People in the North just rub me the wrong way. They are all oblivious, self-obsessed, materialistic, loud. Oblivious is actually the perfect description. In the North, you can't even expect people to wait for you to get off the elevator before they get on. If there are 10 vacant urinals to choose from, some guy will inevitably pick the one right next to yours and take a piss while talking on a cell phone and listening to an ipod. I have never seen so many people chew with their mouths open in my entire life. I have never seen someone neglect to hold a door open for a woman pushing a baby carriage until I moved to the North. People are just fucking self-absorbed and oblivious.
I will never understand the perspective of people from the North. I have this friend who was trying to tell me his place was better than mine, we pay about the same amount in rent and live less than 20 minutes apart. He has a 1 bedroom condo in a highrise and I have a 3 bedroom house with a fenced in yard and a garage. The reason he thought his place was better is because he could walk to the mall. I come home, crack open a beer, relax in my hammock, and enjoy the smell of fresh cut grass while my dogs run around the back yard; he turns on the TV in his cramped apartment that has one window and enjoys the smell of his neighbors curry cooking. It is really fucking beyond me how anyone could want to live like that.

I don't know in the south you have loud obnoxious men too with those keg bellies who try to act like they own the world, they dress up like cowboys and spit tobaccy all the time, they drive oversized trucks with loud exhausts and can't hold their liquor. Granted their are many down to earth folks in the south who keep to themselves and try to make as little impact as possible but I have friends from the Bronx, Brooklyn and Philly who like to be super ninja cool all the time, they keep to themselves and would help an old lady across the street, they too want to make as little impact on the world around them and they respect other peoples privacy.... In the country people don't have to compete for jobs and housing whereas in the city you have to learn to survive the concrete jungle....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

you don't get what you wish for ~ you get what you work for
...

i don't know.... something about trying to attract 1 group to vacation somewhere puts me off. it's as offensive to specifically entice gays as it would be straights blacks as it would be whites. why not just say how great the place is and invite everyone. show a gay couple enjoying themselves in your brochures.
just avoid stereotypes.![]()

Initially, I thought...or wanted to think, that this was all a hoax or misunderstanding.
Nope. They addressed this on the eleven o'clock report last night.
*moving to Philly*

The original ad has since been replaced by the S.C. Pride Movement with
