Ferrofluid is basically iron mixed with a liquid. So when you put a strong magnet near it, it goes insane. What you are seeing is real, it is not a video game.

Wacky wild shtuff man, that is just weird, just weird. I foresee the future of 3 dimensional imagery especially in an LCD type display but the image could have a texture appearance to it if they could find a way to dye the fluid it would be even better. And then locking each pigment to a certain electro-magnetic field so that they could turn them on or off.
