Yeah there were some great parts in that movie. The first 5 min alone was worth the look see.

My GF's friends husband is an extra in that movie....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

I never condemned Tom Cruise the actor, just Tom Cruise the person....he's a damn good actor....Born on the 4th of July is one of my favorite movies....I think they may be why he's flawed is his emotional leakage from opening up for his roles, he goes full bore on the set and then can't keep the flow down when he's done...
