Proud to be a 'f******* redneck': The teenager expecting a baby with Sarah Palin's 17-year-old daughter

The teenager expecting a baby with the 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin calls himself 'a f***ing redneck' on his MySpace page.
Levi Johnston, 18, a high-school hockey player, is engaged to Bristol Palin, whose pregnancy was revealed to the Republican party convention just days after her 44-year-old mother was picked as John McCain's running mate.
He is the high-school sweetheart of the Alaska governor's daughter and used his home page to admit having a girlfriend, but said: 'I don't want kids.'

The hockey player with the Wasilla Warriors in Alaska was said to have made no secret of the pregnancy in his home town.
On the page he also says: 'But I live to play hockey. I like to go camping and hang out with the boys, do some fishing, shoot some s*** and just chillin' I guess'

He added: 'Ya f *** with me I'll kick [your] ass'
Johnston has also been in trouble with the law, for taking king salmon from a lake out of season.
Bristol's pregnancy was revealed after a string of rumours suggested that Mrs Palin's five-month-old baby son was actually her grandson.

A series of internet postings circulated for up to 48 hours before the Alaskan governor announced last night that Bristol, 17, was five months pregnant and would marry the father of the child.

One blog, DailyKos, published a story headlined "Sarah Palin is NOT the mother". Blogger ArcXIX wrote: "Sarah, I'm calling you a liar. And not even a good one. Trig Paxson Van Palin is not your son. He is your grandson. The sooner you come forward with this revelation to the public, the better.'
The onslaught forced the Republicans into the announcement, shocking delegates at their convention in Minneapolis-St Paul, despite the political risk.

Aides insisted Mr McCain, 72, was aware of the daughterâ€™s pregnancy when he picked Mrs Palin, 44, as his number two.

But Democrat critics were already questioning his vetting process after it was revealed the Arizona senator had only met the former beauty queen once before last week.
Republican officials said Mrs Palin decided to announce the pregnancy publicly to counteract â€˜despicableâ€™ Internet rumours that she faked the pregnancy of her fifth child to cover up for her daughter.
According to some â€˜mud-slingingâ€™ liberal bloggers, Mrs Palin pretended to have given birth in May to her fifth child, a son named Trig who has Down's syndrome.

The unfounded suggestion was that Trig was actually Bristol Palin's child and that Sarah Palin was the grandmother.
Although she didnâ€™t directly address the gossip, Mrs Palin said she supported her daughter and gave no indication that the scandal would affect her new job.
'We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us,â€™ said Mrs Palin, a staunch pro-life supporter.
â€˜Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned.
â€˜As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support.

â€˜Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realise very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family.

'We ask the media, respect our daughter and Leviâ€™s privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates,â€™ she added.
The statement, released by the McCain campaign, doesnâ€™t give the fatherâ€™s full name.
The age of consent in Alaska is 16 and couples can marry when they are under 18 only with both parentsâ€™ consent.

The latest sensational twist emerged after a new poll suggested that Mr McCainâ€™s gamble on wooing disgruntled Hillary Clinton voters by selecting a woman may have backfired.
More Democratic women said they were less likely to switch allegiance to the Republicans after Mrs Palin was picked as vice-presidential candidate.
A USA Today/Gallup survey also found most Americans hadnâ€™t even heard of the her before she was plucked from the relative obscurity of Alaskan politics by Mr McCain â€“ and just 39 per cent said they think she is ready to be president if she is called upon.

Among Democrat women, including those who may be disappointed that Mrs Clinton lost out in the primary race, 15 per cent said Mrs Palinâ€™s selection makes them less likely to vote for Mr McCain, while 9 per cent said it might make them change sides.
The debate over Mr McCainâ€™s risky gamble raged on as the party leadership fought to turn the havoc wrought on their convention plans by Hurricane Gustav to their advantage.

Predictable.

Although it seems to me that McCain's people should have, at the very least, put out fires before announcing Palin's VP role.

I agree with Obama on one thing....(as he said the other night..generally) "the Families of the candidates should be off limits". I don't see where Palin can be held accountable for her teenage daughter's mistake(s), and I this has nothing to do with her ability to act as VP.

Secondly, all this talk about the two kids having an unsuccessful marriage is irrelevant. Who cares? Personally, while I might not make the boy marry my daughter, He'd damn sure take responsibility for his (co)actions.

and for craps sake its alaska, the fact that any of them can coherently read or write or even do anything BUT play hockey is a blessing.

and I live in MN now, which is like 6 month alaska.

Let’s face it we all have and will do and say dumb things. Some more then others...but a LOT of people have children young. It is not a mistake. It’s just something you didn't plan better. Whether that be using protection, or deciding when to allow a baby.

Leaving all other variables aside I want the person or people in charge of my country to have a grasp on what we need, how to make it happen, and most of all understand we all have issues.

Most of the people in a political position are rich and turn their noses up at the reality of life. There is nothing wrong with saying we need to work on avoiding girls getting knocked up at 16. I think someone that has dealt with it knows the need for this better then any, and may even have more insight on how to avoid it. The same can be said for MOST situations within reason.

It would be nice to have people in office that live more of an average life, or at least faces the adversity we all face day to day. Having someone in office that can relate to what I deal with means more then someone that just has a political focus, and we are all just like sitting at home watching the show.

Anyone looking to bash McCain for picking a female is silly. It was a very smart move and shows he knows that people are looking for something new and fresh. It gives all the feminist people hope

If the worse thing about McCain is his running mate's 17 year old daughter has a baby then he should win hands down.

Not to pull the race card, but I think it is due...Obama's wife wrote a thesis noting how she will use all her current and future resources to help out the black community first and foremost is VERY disturbing to me. I am not bothered by the helping the black community part. Lets face it the government already has more education programs and gives out more $ to blacks then any other ethnicity. Take a poor white kid and a poor black kid and see who gets the bigger Pell Grant from the government. So bottom line is we as a nation are doing plenty to help those that are looking to help themselves. first and foremost is a very strong thing to say. That means most importantly and before others. I am sorry but we are all the same....if you are American it doesn't matter what your skin color is, or what hangs between your legs (or what doesn't).... nobody should be first and foremost in the eyes of the leadership of a country.

Racial and gender lines will never be erased until the views of our leaders no longer view race or gender as a means of priority. We all deserve the same shot at everything bottom line. If you belong in this country the help needs to go to those that need it most, and have the drive to use the help as a way to better their lives, and contribute more to the future of our great country. We need to stop feeding those that use the system as a crutch and give it to those eager to progress.

Anyways I am getting off topic a little.... but the bottom line is McCain’s running mate's daughter is hardly an issue to frown at when Obama's wife is a highly educated racist looking to put priority on helping her own kind rather then being motivated to help the country as a whole no discrimination involved.

Man this bitch was the best thing to ever happen to McCain. At first I thought she was gonna be the end for McCain but look at what she has done, she has all this drama around her and the media and dems attack her on it making her look like the victim and now the only thing I hear on the news is about her, she has completly turned the tables on the coverage obama was getting. The more people talk about her personal issues the more it helps the republicans.
