CDs You Have/Had to Buy on the First Day

I am listening to the new Robin Thicke CD that came out yesterday. I like it a lot. I have been waiting for this one to come out ever since I bought the last album. My question: do you ever wait for certain CDs to come out? And do you then plan to buy them on the day of their release? Which CDs did you do this for or are planning to do this for?

I don't do this often, but the last few CDs I did this for were Alicia Keys, Boyz II Men, Maroon 5, and Kanye. I will be doing this for the next John Legend and Timbaland albums as well.

I'm waiting patiently for Tool's next album, I'll probably buy it the day it comes out.

I usually buy Jack Johnson's cd's on the first day. The last one I bought on the release date was the new Mason Jennings cd. Good stuff.

Buying CD's what a novel concept....

Actually I doubt most of the music I look for will ever see a cd release....I did get a Miles Davis box set recently....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Haven't bought a CD since 2004. But in the past I can recall buying a lot of Wu-Tang group and solo albums on the day of their release. I also rode my bicycle in the rain in Nov. 1999 to pick up Chronic 2001 on it's release date. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I do remember doing it a lot as a high schooler when I didn't have much else on my "to-do list."

Yep, the new Mason is very good. If you get a chance give Ray Lamontagne a spin too. Start with his first CD and work forward.

Rage against the Machine, if they ever produce another album. I have bought plane tickets just to see there shows.
