I dont think I have ever been so intrigued in a debate, I think she might implode.

Now that the Phillies game is over I'm watching. I'm ready for one of them to say at any moment: "LIVE FROM NEW YORK IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT!!"

    Good TV.

You couldn't pay me to watch that shit....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

    My take:

The moderator was panned before the debate for being in the tank for Obama. I'm not going to go there. I will make an observation though. On quite a few occasions Biden bullied his way into getting the last word even when, by the rules of the debate, it wasn't his turn to get the last word. Was that bias on the moderators part? I don't have any idea and won't make a guess. Congrats to Biden for taking the opportunities he was given and making the most of them. As much as I hate Obama, Biden and everything they stand for, I think Biden owned Palin tonight.

No winners, no losers, no gaffes.

But I liked Biden's responses because he showed knowledge and gave more details.

Palin used abstract nouns and adjectives a lot. Palin also used "folksy" colloquilisms to appeal to high-school educated blue-collar workers, perhaps.

We'll see if the polling date moves in the next couple to few days.

that was a serious yawn fest. I wanted either Biden to lose his temper or Palin to give us more SNL material.

Was it just me or did it seem like she really stressed energy Independence? That is one thing I did like about her.

Palin was chosen as VP on August 29th.

She's had 1 full month to prepare for the debate in mock debates, consult with handlers, watch video of herself, and practice, etc.

She sounded very rehearsed in the way in which she spoke.

I can't believe no one else has called her on that yet. Her first few answers in particular sounded like she was reading them, and these were very predictable questions that she could have prepared for. She spoke extremely monotone, and it just had that effect of when someone's reading something to you verbatim: in one ear and out the other.

    Joe Biden's 14 Lies

    1. TAX VOTE: Biden said McCain voted “the exact same way” as Obama to increase taxes on Americans earning just $42,000, but McCain DID NOT VOTE THAT WAY.

    2. AHMEDINIJAD MEETING: Joe Biden lied when he said that Barack Obama never said that he would sit down unconditionally with Mahmoud Ahmedinijad of Iran. Barack Obama did say specifically, and Joe Biden attacked him for it.

    3. OFFSHORE OIL DRILLING: Biden said, “Drill we must.” But Biden has opposed offshore drilling and even compared offshore drilling to “raping” the Outer Continental Shelf.”

    4. TROOP FUNDING: Joe Biden lied when he indicated that John McCain and Barack Obama voted the same way against funding the troops in the field. John McCain opposed a bill that included a timeline, that the President of the United States had already said he would veto regardless of it’s passage.

    5. OPPOSING CLEAN COAL: Biden says he’s always been for clean coal, but he just told a voter that he is against clean coal and any new coal plants in America and has a record of voting against clean coal and coal in the U.S. Senate.

    6. ALERNATIVE ENERGY VOTES: According to FactCheck.org, Biden is exaggerating and overstating John McCain’s record voting for alternative energy when he says he voted against it 23 times.

    7. HEALTH INSURANCE: Biden falsely said McCain will raise taxes on people's health insurance coverage -- they get a tax credit to offset any tax hike. Independent fact checkers have confirmed this attack is false

    8. OIL TAXES: Biden falsely said Palin supported a windfall profits tax in Alaska -- she reformed the state tax and revenue system, it's not a windfall profits tax.

    9. AFGHANISTAN / GEN. MCKIERNAN COMMENTS: Biden said that top military commander in Iraq said the principles of the surge could not be applied to Afghanistan, but the commander of NATO's International Security Assistance Force Gen. David D. McKiernan said that there were principles of the surge strategy, including working with tribes, that could be applied in Afghanistan.

    10. REGULATION: Biden falsely said McCain weakened regulation -- he actually called for more regulation on Fannie and Freddie.

    11. IRAQ: When Joe Biden lied when he said that John McCain was “dead wrong on Iraq”, because Joe Biden shared the same vote to authorize the war and differed on the surge strategy where they John McCain has been proven right.

    12. TAX INCREASES: Biden said Americans earning less than $250,000 wouldn’t see higher taxes, but the Obama-Biden tax plan would raise taxes on individuals making $200,000 or more.

    13. BAILOUT: Biden said the economic rescue legislation matches the four principles that Obama laid out, but in reality it doesn’t meet two of the four principles that Obama outlined on Sept. 19, which were that it include an emergency economic stimulus package, and that it be part of “part of a globally coordinated effort with our partners in the G-20.”

    14. REAGAN TAX RATES: Biden is wrong in saying that under Obama, Americans won't pay any more in taxes then they did under Reagan.

Every time she spoke, she didn't speak to Biden, she just stared directly into the camera in a machine-like manner reminiscent to Will Ferrell in Old School minus the whole actually proving a point thing.

All we found out from this debate was what we already know: She's a dumb cunt who would be a useless human being without her fuck hole.

Of course her first few answers sounded rehearsed, they were. So did Biden's, you would be an absolute fool to not show up to a debate with well rehearsed opening remarks.

true, but I mean something different by sounding read than sounding rehearsed. A common criticism of Palin is that she's being overcoached and I think this was one of the consequences; she sounded like she was reading something someone else wrote not speaking as herself. Once she got on her feet she sounded better and more confident just a few questions in.

I do think that Biden seemed more comfortable up there

If that's the worst criticism she has, I'd say she did damn good. Biden's seasoned, he should be very comfortable. This the first national debate of her life. If she was uncomfortable.. she might just be human.

Newsflash: She's new at this, and she held her own against a seasoned veteran.

I have my opinions, as I'm sure you do. I don't get ankle deep in political shit, I'd rather keep to the sidelines and throw a few cowpies from the distance.

    but since you asked...

I think if we need any more evidense that Palin/McCain is another Bush term then we need to look no further than Palin's Bushy ability to say nothing using lots of words. Her voice is grating, and as much as others think she's hot she's only hot in a room full of dieing old white guys- and that's coming from me. The only reason she has a chance is because her opposition is the VP birthchild of Brokeback Mountain and To Catch a Predator. She's in way over her head, but is still the most competant Republican candidate as she is the perfect puppet that I doubt even she believes the shit that comes out of her mouth. I look forward to seeing her on Opera when she loses to discuss her new book about the ironic horror to feminisim that was the Palin/McCain campaign, and how she was being used and abused and fed what to say and think.

I support Obama, but there's still a slight pinch of my concious that thinks that McCain could do a good job, but a different job. I do NOT think the same about Palin.

prior to my last post, I just made a criticism, not the criticism. Please don't allow my profanity rich posts often innundated in sexual induendos represent all that is the Democrats' criticisms to Palin. I'm sure there's more out there if you really seek them. If you wish to hear someone talk about boobies in between takes on her foreign policy "experience" then I'm your man.

My favorite part was watching Biden bite his lip, there were a few moments were he could of made her look like an absolute fool and you could actually see the lights go off and the smirk start.

I like McCain, I think he's as qualified to be president as one could be, but Palin just isn't what so many think she is. She's not ready to be 2nd in line. You can see her reading from a script on the Couric interview and she still sounded confused....From the excerpts I heard on the radio last night and this morning she sounded like she was getting crib notes channeled into her head. And what is this thing people keep saying as the reason they like her, "She's got common sense..." but common sense won't fix our economy, it won't win a war, it certainly wouldn't get me hired to an executive position with a corporation....I just don't get it....
