A 7-year-old boy, after scaling the fence at an Australian zoo, served a malevolent menu of more than a dozen animals to its resident crocodile during a gruesome 30-minute rampage, authorities said Friday.

The child provided the 440-pound, 11-foot saltwater carnivore with a variety of live and dead creatures culled from the zoo's attractions - including three lizards that the boy fatally bashed with a rock.

Before the attack ended, 13 animals worth $5,500 were dead. Among the victims was a beloved 20-year-old Goanna lizard, killed and tossed to the crocodile known as "Terry."

The boy's blank expression, caught on a zoo security camera, never changed as he tossed the animals over two fences into the crocodile's zoo habitat, officials said.

"It's like he was playing a game," stunned zoo director Rex Neindorf said of the suspect.

At one point, the boy climbed over the first fence to get closer to the deadly reptile, authorities said. A turtle, bearded dragons and thorny devil lizards were also fed to the crocodile.

The child's diminutive size allowed him to slip past the zoo's security system, which uses sensors to detect intruders, Neindorf said.

"We're horrified that anyone can do this, and saddened by the age of the child," said zoo director Rex Neindorf.

Because of his age, officials said they cannot charge the youth in the carnage inside the Alice Springs Reptile Center in central Australia. The youth's identity was not released.

I hate when people fuck with animals. Let nature take it's course. This kid's arm should be sawed off and fed to the croc while he watches.

people kill rats before they feed their snakes to protect the snake from injury and to be humane to the rat. i'm not sure what the boy was thinking but he may be just an ok kid that loves crocs. i'd have to know more before i believe he's psycho. the first time my daughter saw a snake my mom promptly killed it with a rock so i started telling Tesla stories about nice snakes to undo what i felt was a horrible impression set by my mom. the adults in this kids life have some explaining to do i'd say.

I would not conclude that he is "psycho" but something is definitely wrong here when a 7 year old bashes 13 animals with a rock and feeds them to another, quite abnormal and a bit disturbing if you ask me.

Absolutely. At 7, I think my most violent acts were pretend fighting with GI Joes. He not only broke into the zoo (which would be concerning in itself), he killed innocent life. In my senior seminar on Homicide, we learned that many one of the "trifold" symptoms of sociopaths who went on to become serial killers were children who tortured and/or killed animals.

"Oi loike Crocs" said the boy in the zombie makeup....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
