Thread: Man killed and two left injured a few doors from where i used to work...

After living in an area where there were a couple shootings in my High School alone as well as having twice been in homes targeted by drive-by's and walking home from school right through a gang fight where guns were pulled I had become numb to things like that put since living in Hawaii it's not a common occurrence anymore so I know how you feel....

Who kills someone at a church? Eesh...

Not all that abnormal where I am, in part due to population density. A bar I worked at just had someone shot in a parking lot across the street for a gold chain, I worked across the street from 101 California Street (SF) which had a disgruntled worker shooting (there was a 24 Hour Fitness at the bottom of my building), people get stabbed at bars in San Jose (nearby) somewhat frequently, we pulled a guy out with a knife a couple weeks ago, girlfriends lifelong friend just got shot in the forehead while being taken to his knees in front of his girlfriend, I could keep going...

Most of us only hear about a tiny portion of the things that go on in our cities, when I used to read the paper it got to become depressing reading about just a portion of the reported crimes. I no longer read but occasional once a week tidbits.

Damn...i hate that this is a global problem. This shit is really bad, i just dunno why it happens. It seems like even safe neigbourhoods arent actually safe anymore.

And that church thing was a hit and run, the victim being an oldish guy who used to be in the army riding his bike before sunday lunch in order to keep fit and stay healthy.

The driver never came forward. After killing a guy, on sunday, outside a church. I hope their conscience eats them up inside.

Let me tell you these things are odd. I had the two drive-by's both happen my sophomore year in high school. My Junior year we moved way out in the country from a big city (Houston, TX) to a town of 300 and not a year later our neighbor there fired a shot towards our house while my Dad and I were on the porch because we had called Child Services on him. So I had been shot at 3 times within a two year stretch. About three years later while serving in the Persian Gulf with the Navy our ship was fired at by a speed boat, so I have been shot at more times in my civilian life than in my military life.... That's just how the dice roll I guess...

Thats ridiculous, its almost unbelievable when you think about it.

People need to calm the hell down!

Heres hoping they always miss, man, seriously. Really gets me angry the way things are going these days. Used to be such a safe world to run around in.

That is so true. I lived in Orlando for a few years and rarely heard about a murder or even a violent crime on the evening news.

I know I just heard about this, I live only 5 minutes down the road, small world.

We just need to fix our justice system, you pull out all the non violent drug offenders and lock up anyone who fires a weapon at another person, hit or miss, for life no questions asked. Keeps the animals off the streets and maybe people will think twice.
