First election results are in: Obama wins in New Hampshire town
    THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

    Tuesday, November 4th 2008, 4:43 AM

DIXVILLE NOTCH, N.H. - Democrat Barack Obama came up a big winner in the presidential race in Dixville Notch, N.H., where the nation's first Election Day votes were cast and counted early Tuesday morning.

Obama defeated John McCain, 15 to 6. Independent Ralph Nader received no votes.

The first voter, following tradition established in 1948, was picked ahead of the midnight voting, and the rest of the town's 21 registered voters followed suit in Tuesday's first minutes.

Town Clerk Rick Erwin said the northern New Hampshire town is proud of its tradition, but that the most important thing is that the turnout represents a 100% vote.

You hear it took Obama 15 minutes to vote? Apparently he spent quite a long time looking for the 'Present' box to check.

I must be a moron then, because I just cast my vote for Obama 45 minutes ago. Not that my vote mattered much. Alabama was a lost cause.

Alabama is a red state. I'm really tired of everyone not voting for Obama being labeled a racist.

I don't think he meant that, he has mentioned that Alabama is very racist before this post.

Do you think a bigot would vote for a Bi-Racial man?

That's not my point.. I'm just saying if by some miracle John McCain won, all you would hear about is how racist the whites are. I guarantee it.

..but over 90% of blacks voting for Obama has nothing to do with being racist.. nothing at all.

Yet again, here you implying that only whites can be racist. Dumb ass.

BTW, I was going to vote for Obama before I found out what he really stood for; black or not. Then I found out that he likes to lie, is racist against my people, and is soft on immigration.

    But thanks for playing.

You misinterpreted. I wasn't saying that not voting for Obama means you are racist. I am saying that there are too many "good ole boys" around here that say on a daily basis how they "ain't vot'en for no nigger".

McCain ALL the way!!! I do not want my country, the same country my Grandfather and Dad, Uncles, and Step Father fought for to turn into a socialistic (is that even a word, LOL) country!!! Make comp[anies take theier jobs elsewhere because it will be cheaper for them, and on top of that his views on the Bible really blow me away, calling the sermon on the mount the most radical passage in the Bible??? What an idiot!!! A racist, piece of crap that will destroy this country from within!!! I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone could vote for this joke of a person, has NOT done anything, heck McCain spent more time as a POW than that douchebag has being anythin!!! If McCain was in a racist church, or a radical jackass (The mascot fits this shit-head) everyone would be SCREAMING, but because he supposedly denounced reverand Jackass SUPREME, anyone questioning it is a racist??? What a Left sided Bleeding Heart Liberal Radical PIECE OF SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I mean that from the bottom of my heart!!!

    Won't appoint conservative judges.

More likely to regulate Wall Street.

Less likely to give big business tax breaks without contingencies (Outsourcing has always been a problem, it is now becoming apparent).

Likely to improve foreign relations, McCain will stay the course.

Not likely to interfere with people's personal lives (Schiavo, gays, abortion).

Didn't appoint a religious zealot as his VP.

More likely to have not made promises to the religious right to get his party's appointment (No problem with religious people, don't like the religious right running the country).

I think either will make the country better than how Bush is leaving it, I just think he will do better...Much better.

I don't buy into the right's smoke and mirrors (Not likely to give black people reparations, not likely to turn the country over to terrorists).
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

Obama. McCain choosing Palin as his VP was the last straw for me, besides all of his other lies and deceptions. Way too dangerous having someone that incompetent and blindly religious a heartbeat from being President.

I heard people respond to Mike Ditka's support of McCain by calling him a racist. Even though he was very clear that he always votes republican and nothing he said was remotely racist.

People voting for either candidate based solely on their color disturbs me. You think Spike Lee and certain members of the Hip-Hop community would be pushing so strongly and wearing Obama t-shirts if he were white? The same could be said for McCain supporters voting for him because he is white. WTF is wrong with people?

McCain wins Kentucky; Obama takes Vermont
    BREAKING NEWS
    msnbc.com and NBC News
    updated 2 minutes ago
Republican Sen. John McCain won Kentucky and Democratic Sen. Barack Obama won Vermont as the first results began rolling in from Tuesday's historic presidential election, according to projections by NBC News.

At 7 p.m. ET, polls had also closed in Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia, where it was too early to project results. In Indiana, historically a reliably Republican state, the vote was too close to call, NBC said.

Results were expected to be delayed across the country as record numbers of voters flocked to polling stations, energized by an election in which they would select either the nation’s first black president or its first female vice president.
Could mean more minorities are coming out to vote.
