    Our country is in trouble

Now I wouldn't have a problem with Obama winning if he won for the right reasons, I just think he's going to win for all the wrong reasons.

watching CNN tonight, I have never heard them refer to the "African American population" in areas of states that were all voting for Obama. Well gee, no shit they are voting for him. I also don't remember an election where the shots they show of states have rows and rows of black people cheering and chanting Obama's name.

My problem is I would bet money that more than half of these people don't even know one policy of Obama's and a voting for him because of his color. My other problem is all the college aged kids also shown in these shots joining in the Obama chants, like they voted for him because it was the trendy thing to do. I give the college kids a little more leeway because they are probably more educated in the whole presidential race and all, but the others I cannot give leeway.

and no, this is not at all a racist post, it's the same as if a bunch of rednecks were on TV chanting McCain's name, however my problem is that these people probably wouldn't even be voting if there wasn't a black nominee.

Since race seems to be the under lying theme here, now that Obama is President elect, do you think that the Racist organizations of this country are planning to take him out of office? (I think you all know what I mean!)

Why would the NAACP want him out?
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

    Stewart for President!

I agree though. There were vids of some interview taken in what, New York(?) of black people who were asked "What do you think of Obama's running mate, Sarah Palin?" Answer from Blackie: "shes great! right person for the job.."

Do you really think all the white people that voted for McCain did so only on the issues? Americans as a whole have things so easy that most of us are not educated on the issues nearly as much as those who are forced to live under "issues" that may even threaten their mortality.

I think by and large most people just wanted change, so republicans had an uphill battle no matter what color/sex anyone was.

Yes, some people vote for a candidate because of the candidate's race. This has been goin on for over 200 years.

Yes, some people vote for a candidate because its trendy.

And this happens on both sides, and for many different candidates.

Here is an article out today with the percentages of Obama voters based on age, race, ethniciy, and age, etc.

This is a good article, IMO.

Is Obama unique? Or are the Dems a make-up of a new coalition?

We don't know at this point.

    This is a good quick-read:
