    Quantum Solace

Just got back and I loved it, all my friends hated it though. I went in not really expecting a James Bond flick but a good action flick, its a reinvention at best. If you are a Bond purist you might be disappointed. But it gets from me.

Too much action. Not enough clever dialogue or smart moves made by Bond.

Like part one but worse in every aspect. 6.5/10 for Daniel Craig.

I'm a huge Bond fan but I'm not going to expect Sean Connery or Roger Moore out of this guy....plus I'm going to expect Matrix like action because a spy movie wouldn't survive without it these days.....everybodies expecting Jason Bourne chase scenes and Mission Impossible Stunts.....

I watched From Russia with Love the other day and it was great watching that because it was fitting for it's time.....

On a side note, Casino Royale was my favourite bond movie by far.

went and saw it on Friday. I think the action was too fast. Had a hard time seeing what was going on. The dialogue was rough? I got lost during the movie. Am going to have to go and watch Casino again and then go back for Quantum again to see if I like it better.

It seems like one second, Bond is hand-to-hand fighting, then the next, jacks some guy's motorcycle, then jacks a boat, then is flying a plane, etc. all in the span of fifteen minutes. And then you find yourself saying, "geez, these bad guys really want this guy dead. I mean, they are really pouring out a lot of resources to get him."

Of a group of five friends, I was the only one who liked this one better than Casino Royale, though I found a co-worker of mine did too. Daniel Craig plays such a good action star in these Bond movies; he is definitely far more exciting and more badass than any previous Bond. Though as realistic as some of the action scenes seemed, they were often offset by overly ridiculous ones. For example...

....when they jump out of the plane, their parachute didn't open until they pretty much hit the ground. Then Bond gets up and you see his shirt is still neatly tucked in and he's walking like he owns the cave, etc..

Yeah, there were some scenes that panned back and forth between seemingly irrelevant shots, though I really liked the way this movie was shot. I can't explain it, but it made it so much more fast-paced and exciting. That, and my group of friends and I went to the shooting range before going to the movie. I think that added to the experience.

But Bond isn't all about action and stunts, he's gotta have that suave charm and sharp wit to go along with it.....

The old james bond movies were so good; Casino royale was boring and not james bond. Hopefully this movie fits the espionage & bond category.

Too much action. Not enough clever dialogue or smart moves made by Bond.

True that, kinda like Metal Gear solid if anyone's played the games.

    My thoughts exactly.

    Again, spot on.

The Bond girl was bland and almost pointless. What was the point of Matthus? The introduce him and then kill him in the next scene. What the hell was with the grappling hook and the boat? How the hell did that work? And there's no way in the hell that the head of MI6 is going to go to Russia. Lastly, I have no interest in seeing political messages in a Bond movie.

Overall, I didn't much care for the movie. Too much action and not enough Bond.
