I remember being very young and remembering a "before" time that was very black. I don't know what this was, and I only remember remembering it, not what it was like. i've heard people say they remember being in utero, remember being born... studies suggest it is possible.

Actually your brain's memory access procedure changes when you are around four years old. After that it is virtually impossible to access any memory stored prior to the change. Some people believe they have memories of before that time, but those are phantom memories. They are a product of what you have been told, what you have seen or what you think that happened.

My earliest memory is around 3 years of age.
