Man crashes twice with 1-year-old in car, charged with DUIBy Naples Daily News
Saturday, January 3, 2009
BONITA SPRINGS — A Bonita Springs man was jailed New Year’s Day after crashing his car not once but twice into another vehicle containing a 1-year-old child -- who was not injured – and fleeing the scene, ultimately blowing a 0.229 during a DUI test.
Hereberto Hernandez Maldonado, 26, 27231 Morgan Road, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs/first offense, driving without a valid license, DUI resulting in property damage and leaving the scene of a crash causing property damage.
Maldonado, a citizen of Mexico, remained jail Friday, Lee County Jail records show. He has one previous arrest in Lee County – for driving while license suspended dating to 2007.
According to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office report:
A deputy was sent to the scene of a hit-and-run crash that occurred before 10:30 p.m. Thursday. Another deputy found the vehicle that had left the scene.
The second deputy was following the car, a Ford Taurus that was traveling at a “very low rate of speed and swerving all over the roadway.”
The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, which pulled into a driveway in the 11000 block of Torchfire Drive, a block-and-a-half away from the initial crash scene. The victim told deputies she was at Torchfire and Calypso waiting to make a turn when the Ford made a wide turn onto Torchfire and hit her vehicle broadside. The child was in a safety restraint and uninjured. No other injuries were reported.
The deputy wrote he could smell a strong odor of alcohol and vomit from inside the car and saw a large amount of vomit on the passenger seat and the driver’s shirt.
The victim identified Maldonado as the man who was driving the car which struck her car twice.
After being arrested, Maldonado was taken to jail where deputies gave him a breath test. Both times he registered 0.229, more than three times the 0.08 considered to be driving drunk in Florida.

Speaking of bad drivers in Florida
We got rear-ended a 3 months ago sitting at a red light in Florida by a big fat redneck skank (she was uninsured as well). After she got out of her car, she started flirting with the driver of the other car she hit when she bounced off of ours. We just got our car back a few weeks ago.
Florida

Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

This thread can be full of Florida fail quickly.
We just ran a story about a moron accidentally shooting himself (I think he died of his wounds). Darwinsim is AWESOME!
