Raimi wants Morbius?
While SPIDER-MAN 4 is still a ways away, the debate over who should be the villain(s) in that film still rages hot. Up until now, smart money was on Lizard whose Curt Connors has been making appearances in previous films (and with the Venom installment of the SPIDER-MAN trilogy having the worst reviews of the bunch, you can bet Raimi will return to Golden Age villains). But Raimi spoke to Empire Magazine and his comments might surprise you. Says Raimi of which villain he thinks is "really cool":
I like it in the Marvel comics when Spider-Man fights Morbius... A vampire! I like that combination of superhero plus supernatural.
Hmm it definitely is an interesting spin on things to see Spider-Man fighting a villain. Sadly I always felt that the Morbius arcs in the comics were always a little disappointing. For those in the dark, Dr. Michael Morbius was diagnosed with a fatal blood condition. Desperately trying to keep himself alive, he used a serum he concocted party of bat blood. This, combined with electroshock treatments, transformed him into some kind of man/vampire/bat hybrid. Perhaps not coincidentally, the origin of Morbius in the comics is very closely entwined with...Lizard.

So many cries of inequality stem from one of group

So true, I wonder how many vampire movies have been made so far.
My favorite was Wolf man.

The Undead Gay Disco Dancer called...Morbius!

the reason the last one sucked isn't because Venom was the badguy, it was just the horrible way they portrayed him for the sake of adding another "celebrity" into the mix. Even if they do go to the "golden age villians," (which personally, I think Venom is the best of the Spidey villians) doing them poorly is still gonna make it a bad movie. You can't put Morbious in a pink dress and still say it's golden age villiany.
I know I'm alone on this, but the 3rd installment of the Spiderman movie was the only one I even almost liked. I absolutely hated the first two, but I liked how 3 was almost a parody of itself.
What they should have done is made Venom the right way, and then in the fourth movie have Venom and Spidey team up against Carnage. In classic Marvel fashion I wouldn't mind some Black Cat and other cameos into the mix. Carnage tends to bring out lots of big names out of hiding. Hell, why not bring in the cast from the Fantastic 4 movies in for a scene or two?
Have Problems?... Chances are its due to overpopulation
Save The Oceans, Save the Planet, Save Your Family, Save Yourself!
Make it the lizard man! that would be fucking interesting!
