    Can Weight Lifting Affect Dreams?

okay, so I've come to notice that when I'm in the middle of a period of solid weight lifting that it really affects my dreams. the past 2 months I wasn't as consistent as I have been the past 2 weeks, and these past 2 weeks I've had several violent/aggressive dreams, where as the period of 2 inactive months I had no violent dreams. I have also noticed this on a couple of previous occasions.

by violent, I'm talking as though I usually end up killing people, but they are always people who are trying to hurt me or a loved one. such as last night when someone was trying to hurt my dad (in my dream) I ended up beating the guy to death. I never get hurt either.

I was just wondering if this could be affected by lifting weights, where as when you lift heavy you release a lot of testosterone which could be causing this to happen? that's just a guess.

I know it sounds pretty fucked, but I'm no more aggressive in the run of a day during this time, just in the dreams.. does this happen to anyone else?

I know that I sleep better and therefore have more memory of my dreams but I've never noticed an increase in violence within my dreams. Maybe there is a underlying answer like you are mad at someone or you are stressed out?

no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

yeah, I'm the same way with the sleep part, I never sleep better than when I am lifting.

but if I am stressed out I don't feel it. it is a new semester of school, but I've been in much crazier school times then now. if anything, I'm feeling under the least amount of stress right now than at any other time of the school year so far.

Well theres your answer. Your brain is used to dealing with stress during the day, now that things are relaxed your brain is keeping itself trained for stress response it was once used to....at least thats my theory.

Sounds almost exactly like my situation. I've been doing the same thing. I had a dream I killed a couple guys I went to school with for breaking into my house and stealing a playstation last night. And I don't really play video games. I hadn't considered it until you said this. Interesting
