    Racist Bird.

I called my mom today and she told me her canary died. His name was Whitey, we thought just because he was of that particular color, and he had already lived two years longer than canaries are supposed to live.

His cage is in the living room, and right after the inauguration of America's first black president Whitey fell off his perch dead.

my mom's dog opened whitey's cage one day by banging the door with his nose.

then the bird the dog n my mom went tearing down the hall.

my mom dragged the dog out in the living room and told him to stay while she went back n searched for whitey.

after 5 minutes or so n no bird she went back to the dog and pried his mouth open.

whitey was sitting on his tongue panting. my mom put him back in his cage and a few minutes later he was singing away on his swing like nothing happened.

That is pretty cool. Are they mean birds? I thought about getting a bird but don't know what kind.

So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

they are tiny birds that can be annoyingly cheerful in the early morning hours. i think they are kept mainly for their song.

you couldn't hold her canaries of finches but the cockatiels are larger and like humans.

    Wow! Unreal, cartoon like even....

Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

He was curious about the bird so he kept it hidden in his mouth until he could be alone to investigate it better. I dropped some change on the floor one time and my dogs were all sniffing at it, after I picked up what I thought was all of it I noticed a quarter missing. I looked at my dogs and asked who had it. My Belgian turned her head sideways and I heard a *clink* against her teeth, I put my hand out and said "Out" and she dropped it in my hand...
