Well, her 16 year old daughter has an illegitmate child with a guy going to work on the Alaskan pipeline after high school while his mom sits in jail on 6 felony drug counts.

But, she will lose because Pastor Palin will be using the bible as her personal consultant on all policy. Small gov't means small gov't in all things, not just low taxes. The country is moving away from the religious right ruling it. A true conservative, fiscally and socially, is what the country needs. If Palin is up in 2012, Obama or an independent is guaranteed a victory, even if Obama runs the country into the ground over the next 4 years. Come to think of it, McCain breaking from the GOP and being 2000 McCain would be sweet, or Ron Paul.

What if Palin wasn't wealthy? What if her daughter needed all the various services that a young non-college educated girl with a baby would need to survive?

You know conservatives are not for helping young single mothers. What if her redneck boyfriend split town and the girl was all alone to raise her kid? The mother and the kid would probably be livign in poverty for a long time.

let me be clear here. i don't want Palin getting anywhere near close to the GOP nomination in 2012. I'm not looking for anything resembling a pastor for president.

My biggest argument is against the thought that her daughter making a bad decision somehow makes her a bad parent, and by being a bad parent is not qualified for office. If bad moral character of family members disqualifies one for office no one could run. the issue of clinton cheating on his wife in office has not been addressed yet either

I don't vote on a president to "impose her morals and values". The daughter made a mistake. This is not about poor parenting. anyone who has had premarital sex as a teen should not be speaking of palin as a bad mother unless they want to also condemn their own parents. and i would suspect im in the minority of those who have practiced abstinence on this forum.

i completely disagree with the thought that conservatives are against helping young single mothers. I've donated time and money to this very situation. maybe thats the problem. too many fucking douche bags saying the government should tax me and take care of it instead of rolling up their sleeves and actually helping out.

That is a little different. The actions of your spouse do not reflect upon you nearly so much as the actions of your children.

The way I figure it, a parent is 100% responsible for the actions of their children. I consider an adult to be anyone 18 or older, and at that point they become 100% responsible for their actions.

And I am not saying that it is morally wrong to have kids at 17. I'm just saying that a parent failed somewhere down the line when their kid gets knocked up before they are financially able to properly take care of their family.

And don't doubt for a second that republicans wouldn't have jumped Obama's shit if he had a kid that was knocked up while under age.

did you have premarital sex before 18? as a matter of fact are you able to support a child now, and are you sexually active? did you do anything wrong before you turned 18 that your parents were not 100% responsible for?

personally I drank before I was 18. I never drove, or got in a car with someone who had, but I was doing something illegal and stupid. I don't think my parents are in any way responsible for that action of mine. I made the choice regardless of the excellent parenting I had.

You see, that is the problem. You can't depend on the goodness if people like you to give enough money so that these kids get proper health and dental care. You can't depend on people like you to make sure these kids have programs for funded head start and preschool.

There just aren't enough people like you giving enough money. So that shit has, it absolutely has, to come out of tax payers pockets for them get these programs.

The conservative philosophy was talked about in the other thread about charity. Conservatives bitch, moan, cry, and complain about paying taxes to go to, so called fat lazy well fair mothers. Well, if Palin wasn't rich, that would probably be the situation for her daughter. And, I know you want to pay less taxes, but voluntarily give more to the programs that you want to give to, but that system doesn't work.

In all honesty, neither system works worth a damn. What works is parents who teach they gets to have some common fucking sense. To have values, and a since of reality. If her kid was fucking, then her kid should have been on birth control. And if her kid was fucking, and Palin didn't know about it, then that is bad too.

Education prevents these things. Having a parent you can talk to prevents these things. Government sponsored sex education helps prevent these things. Free birth control helps prevent these things.

I really think that if you give me and everyone in this country our taxes back we will use it for these programs, and they will be better funded. they will be better funded because private programs are much more effective and efficient in my book, and experience. you don't think that with more money in your pocket you won't donate more to the programs you believe in?

even with open lines of communication kids don't always come out and tell mommy and daddy that they have decided to start fucking.

and as much as i am for appropriate sex education in school, the earlier you talk with kids about sex, the earlier they are going to start. and i dont care how many free condoms you hand out teens are going to have unprotected sex without telling their parents.
