Shadow of a thousand suns? how do you get a shadow of a sun unless you're on the opportunistic side of a black hole where the light is sucked away and darkness can only survive......

Sorry I've been in a smart-aleck mood all day....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

    You've never heard of METALLICA?

and I agree with portions of this list.

the portions I have personally experienced

However it is too one sided, genre-wise

    Don't feel too bad.
    I'm 21 and I only knew 4-5 myself.

That's the thing about music these days.
So many people are trying to do it.
    It's like a fad.

I'm gonna have to start digging up some new shit, there's is just so much good old shit that I still haven't experienced that I feel overwhelmed. There is a lot of good stuff coming out though hell Jason Mraz might have a song out that has been way overplayed but if you look at his other stuff it ain't so bad, and in that vein of music I have started listening to Amos Lee, then I stumble on dozens of people on youtube with acoustic songs and great voices and it just blows me away. Then I find these mix artists like Kid Cudi and numerous others with infectious grooves that go beyond Blingy Gangsta rap or your usual hip hop revolutionary canary parroting, then I hear really good rock song by some new artist and I just say fuck it it used to be I could search out the good shit and stay caught up but some where it went into overdrive and I'm happy because that means musical talent and substance in music is making a mad dash to boot the crap out but I'm also sad cause now I am lost not only in the old stuff but also the new stuff.......
