People always get pissy when shit like this happens, but will it honestly affect you?

    It probably won't.

I can see it being an issue with people in certain fields (photographers, designers, artists, etc.)

I've had people on Facebook ask about my old artwork and almost uploaded it since I don't keep it on my site anymore.

What if it's a registered trademark or it's copyrighted? I'm sure they couldn't use it then....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Why did IronMagazineForums join FaceBook? Exposure and Publicity most likely right? Maybe that's what they are trying to discourage?

I think they've been losing money. They might be using the new TOS to feature people's photos or anything else to promote their site in web ads on other sites, or possibly to sell the content to other sites. I think they got in trouble a while back for selling people's information to other companies.

Not from what I hear, I mean I dont know about currently, but I hear they either make more money, or have more traffic than Myspace, one of the other...Or both....?

It is pretty damn hard for me to believe but I have heard that as fact...?

I heard that they were losing money and trying to come up with more ways to make money through ads. MySpace traffic has gone down since April while Facebook's traffic is increasing but I'm not sure how their ads are setup, but maybe they are making less money than myspace from ads because facebook ads seem less intrusive. Myspace ads are little flash games where you shave Britney's head, etc. and then it jumps you over to a product or service.

Either way who knows why, the point is that it's pretty shady. Whenever there's an update on iTunes TOS, they ask you to re-accept the terms.

People upload things they are proud of. For many of us, its a bodybuilding picture. For an artist, its their art. That is what facebook and myspace is all about. Showing off the things you are proud of.

With that says, who gives a shit. I deleted my facebook, and I keep forgetting ot delete my myspace. I think I'll do that now while I'm thinking about it.

Looks like you artist won! Now the big, evil facebook wont be stealing your doodles and pictures to make millions!

Because out of the 100s of millions of things uploaded there, the staff of 700 is gonna target you out the 150 million people and use YOUR content.

    Terms of Use Update

Over the past few days, we have received a lot of feedback about the new terms we posted two weeks ago. Because of this response, we have decided to return to our previous Terms of Use while we resolve the issues that people have raised. For more information, visit the Facebook Blog.

I pulled a few strings and told them it wasn't a good idea. I didn't want them using my pretty face on some billboard for some advertisement.

The next string I'll be pulling will be the tampon string from Jamie Eason's vagina.

Facebook have now give users voting rights to future policies.

    Facebook Offers Control to Users
Facebook has responded to criticism over the way it handles user data by handing over control to its users. Members of the social network will have comment and voting rights over the firm's future policies regarding how the site is governed. Founder Mark Zuckerberg said the aim was to "open up Facebook so that users can participate meaningfully in our policies and our future". Privacy International's Simon Davies said the move was "unprecedented". "No other company has made such a bold move towards transparency and democratisation," he said. "The devil will be in the detail but, overall, we applaud these positive steps and think they foreshadow the future of web 2.0."

IMO - the whole thing was a publicity stunt.
