    This is true.
His poll numbers are dropping pretty quickly thus far...
Poll: Viewers feel positive about Obama speech
85 percent say speech makes them more optimistic about country's direction
I hope he does well, but I want this drooling over him nonsense to stop.. it's ridiculous. He's not doing anything different, he just looks better while he's doing it.
I Agree with the drooling part but you have to admit he does a good job with his speeches.
    He'd make a heck of a salesman.

Absolutely, I really don't think there's any question about his ability to deliver a speech. It's his liberal policies that I don't have any faith in. He's spending a shit-load of money.

They are saying that Jindal bombed, I never even heard of him.
When I saw I wasn't paying mind and I thought he was just a doofy looking liberal.
Word is he's actually a good speaker that the GOP is hoping will be a voice in the future.

The only thing he has accomplished is wasting a trillion dollars and ensuring the US economy will not recover any time soon.

You can't spend your way out of debt... it just doesn't work that way.

The liberals constantly claimed there was no problem with giving everyone mortgages that really should not have qualified.

You don't think it was refreshing to see someone at that stage with a decent command of the English language?

Only time will tell if he does any good, with this speech he may just fool Wall street I mean have confidence in him.

You're saying Obama wasted a trillion dollars and I'm on crack?

Stand behind your president and pitch in whenever possible.
That's the problem... he has done too much.

The only way to fix the economy is to get out the way and let it fix itself. Record spending and record deficits and debt aren't going to do it.

The economy has to crash. It will with or without Obama's spending but with it, it will crash harder and take much longer to recover.

FDR did the same thing in the 30s and guess what, the Dow Jones didn't get back to it's 1929 highs until the mid 1950's. If Obama is as successful as FDR was, we should recover by 2035.

Bush couldn't convince me the sky was blue.

Obama can convince 85% of the people the sky red.

    Some have it some don't.

That's the problem... he did convince everyone the sky was red (which it isn't). And now we are going to pay for it.

Don't get me wrong I don't like Bush either but Obama has spent us into the next Great Depression

Research credit default swap and subprime mortgages.

Bush wasn't completely without guilt but Clinton was the one that got the ball rolling and wanted everyone to be able to own a home.

I never said it was. I don't love Bush either. I don't like that he signed the TARP into law either.

You have to remember. When he went to war everyone was behind him and he told you upfront that he was going in there and staying... and everyone loved it. A few years later, they got tired and decided they hated it. He stayed consistant, the US people were the fickle ones.

Besides Obama in one month has already spent more than Katrina, Iraq and Afghanistan... you just haven't gotten the bill yet.

I think the people before him took care of that, while it's not the Great Depression it's pretty bad.

I'm sorry that guys like these can't quite make you proud. They've made me proud regardless of who is reading from the teleprompter in the capitol.

But hey, what's buying your freedom with their blood matter? Not like they made any speeches with "hope" and "change" thrown in 100 times.

I hope this puts things in perspective. The United States is bigger than the Presidency, and the Presidency is bigger than one man.
