He's declared war on prosperity, not "special interest." Look at all the garbage in his bills. Millions to certain businesses/industries. He's all about sending your tax dollars to subsidize failing businesses.

I hope he fails.

"Lower health care costs" By spending an additional $600+ billion.

Have you ever listened to Limbaugh? Probably not more than a few soundbites.

I'd advise watching his speech at CPAC, if you are interested in actually knowing the true Limbaugh. You might become a regular listener.

I'll give it a listen, I admit all I do hear are his selected sound bites from other people.

It's over an hour long, so set aside some time and watch the entire thing, not just the first part, if you're serious. It is worth it.

It really was a great speech. I really wish people would listen to it, but I don't have high hopes.

I used to watch his show all the time in the 90's (I so turned him on - pun intended). I like some of his positions, just like I like a lot of conservative positions, but I just can't stand the man himself (I just see him as a big hypocrite - like most people in politics and religion - I had to lump them together because I have Ted Haggard and company on my mind right now ).

I swear if we bail out these auto companies again I will go crazy. Let bad business ideas FAIL. I would support using the money to BUY one of the manufacturers (say GMC just because I like them) and make all taxpayers shareholders (that'll boost sales pretty quickly and help make us a bit more money along the way - plus they'll be answerable to us and maybe push better fuel standards, or alternative fuels - I still want engine mods to increase gas mileage by an appreciable rate). Screw giving them money without limit, I want to own GMC dangit!!

I don't think we can ever find a president who can meet the expectations of the entire citizens. Because there are different parties with different goals, there will always be many citizens who will not agree with decision of opposite party. Besides, we should not blur the line between patroitism and partism. Country should always come first.

He cleared up his "I hope Obama fails" position decently, I'll give him that.

That said, don't kid yourself if a republican was in office right now. They would be spending massive amounts of money just the same to try and stave off a depression. It's a consequence of keynesian monetary policy - you either pump in money until inflation normalizes price levels, or you allow deflation to occur to "normalize" prices. The problem is that deflation begets more deflation, hence the problems that caused the depression.

I have...and he's way to emotionally charged for my ears. So is Hannity and O'reilly...I prefer the more wonkish and academic repubs like Hume, Kristol, and Krauthammer.

RNC chief Steele: Limbaugh is more a performer than GOP leader

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Republican Party Chairman Michael Steele is taking issue with the notion that Rush Limbaugh is the de facto leader of the GOP, calling the conservative radio talk show host an entertainer whose comments can be ugly.

Steele, chairman of the Republican National Committee, said in an interview with CNN that he, rather than Limbaugh, is "the de facto leader of the Republican Party."

And Steele described Limbaugh as a performer.

"Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer. Rush Limbaugh's whole thing is entertainment," Steele said. "Yes, it is incendiary. Yes, it is ugly."

Limbaugh fired back on his radio show Monday that the GOP leader appears to be supporting President Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

"Why do you claim to lead the Republican Party when you seem obsessed with seeing to it President Obama succeeds?" Limbaugh said to Steele.

"I frankly am stunned that the chairman of the Republican National Committee endorses such an agenda. I have to conclude that he does because he attacks me for wanting it to fail," said Limbaugh.

I suppose one could say it another way....

Obama's "financial strategy" to restore the economy will drive the country further into recession and devalue the dollar to the point we're asking Mexico for loans. Our financial foothold in the world economy will plummet into ruin and we'll have less capital credibility that Haiti.

I hope he fails.

What I still don't really get is why anyone would actually want to see their president and country fail. Isn't that kind of self-defeating?

I don't particularly like everything Obama has done so far, but he is still my President, I supported Bush for the same basic reason even though I couldn't stand him as a person or most of his policies.

Also, I do tend to prefer a more academic republican - think about it, Ron Paul was definately one of these guys and I love almost everything he stands for (heck, I even changed parties to Libertarian for this past election cycle just to vote for a person with ideals similiar to his).

You do know there is a reason for that, they say the Democrats want Rush to be the voice of the GOP.

Reason being that you know how blunt and outspoken he is, and how the left edits his words.
Well the casual listener will only hear and focus on the edited words, like "I hope Obama fails" and not the rest of his speech where he wants Obama to cease his attack on Capitalism.....or something like that.

Here is the way I see it. Both sides want to be right so much, they couldn't give 2 shits whether or not we fail as a country. Conservatives with their free market capitalism and Liberals with their Socialist ideas. Think about it, has the US been a pure capitalistic society over the course of the last 50 years? The truth is, their is benefit to either approach and each approach lends itself better in certain situations. Both sides take such a hardline approach to their agenda, and write off the other without even listening that it's no wonder we are where we are at.

Look at the school loan program, it has been destroyed by the gov't selling the loans it initially wrote with low interest rates to companies who, in turn, jacked up the rates to ridiculous levels. They now say you can get school loans as low as 8.5%, they were 3.3% when I was in school. How is that helping anybody out?

There should be no bailouts, without a severe overhaul in the way we do business, the US will fail no matter how much money we throw at it. Conservative, Democrat, it doesn't matter, they couldn't give 2 shits about the people at the bottom. Think about it, all of you people complaining that the income tax will be raised. The money that is going to be raised through that is not going to people who are too poor and lazy to work, it is going to people who are probably better off than you who failed and ran a company into the ground. GW did it, and Obama is doing the same.

It's an elephant-on-elephant slapfest - and the White House is likely loving every minute of it.

The Republican rumble pits conservative talk icon Rush Limbaugh against new GOP boss Michael Steele in an increasingly nasty war of words.

"I would be embarrassed to say that I'm in charge of the Republican Party in the sad-sack state that it's in," railed Limbaugh yesterday, adding he "might get out the hari-kari knife" if he had Steele's job.

Limbaugh lashed out at Steele on his radio show after the party boss slapped the talk legend's style during an interview Saturday.

Steele had insisted that he - and not Limbaugh - was at the helm of the party.

"Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer," Steele said on CNN. "Rush Limbaugh, his whole thing is entertainment. Yes, it's incendiary, yes, it's ugly."

That was enough to set off Limbaugh.

He accused Steele of being "gutless" and afraid to challenge President Obama.

Last night, Steele tried to call a truce. "I have enormous respect for Rush Limbaugh," he told politico.com. "I was maybe a little bit inarticulate . . . there was no attempt on my part to diminish his voice or his leadership."

The GOP knows that, they seem to try to counter act when Clinton was no longer running with Palin, then they bring in Steele as in to counteract against Obama but that failed also, then they tried with Jindal after Obamas speech...he bombed.
The Dems are happy with Rush leading the way.
