    Nightmares

    Do you get them?

Do you have recurring nightmares, dreaming about the same scary shit?

Do you ever wake up because of them and find yourself at a complete loss?

I don't get nightmares.. hell, I don't sleep enough to get into that kind of a deep sleep to get them.

That said, I would bet some people have some excellent stories to be told.

I have had nightmares pretty much every other night since the age of about 8 when i had severe night terrors because of some psychological crap. Parents divorce maybe. Or a few operations (surgery) i had around that time. Hospitals are scary when you're a kid :P.

The night terrors were pretty funky actually, i had to be physically slapped on multiple occasions because i was nightmaring with my eyes open, wide awake.

The worst night terror i ever had was about age 10 when i dreamed i survived a nuclear holocaust in my home town and was wandering through a sea of dead bodies looking for my family. Was screaming in my sleep and couldnt be woken up for five minutes no matter what they did. Sweating, pissing, fighting them to get away...all that good stuff.

Havent had a night terror for years, but regular bad dreams and nightmares are pretty frequent like i said.
Sometimes they're recurring, most of the time it's something new. Themes recur - wandering around unfamiliar places, being killed or seeing others being killed by things we have no control over, being chased by things/people...

Have had a few "asteroid" nightmares lately, where an asteroid hits the Earth and chaos ensues. Stupid tabloids.

Yea. I get them all the time.
When I was little, they scared me, but now I just get angry and beat the shit out of the monsters/people/spiders/animals....
    whatever may be attacking me.

Yeah, I kept having this reoccuring nightmare where I kept dreaming I was a TeePee or a Wigwam.

Finally I went to a psychiatrist, he told me to just relax that I was just two tents.

I dream every night, sometimes they are good, sometimes scary, but mostly just weird.

The only recurring dreams I have are either about work, or a motorcycle that keeps popping up from time to time.

I sleep walk, so sometimes I act out my dreams in weird ways, although one of my sleeping meds as put a stop to the sleeping walking for the most part.

My dreams would probably be nightmares for most people.....like the other night I kept seeing my dead father peeking at me from different places inside of a pleasant dream about walking on the beach inside the ship I was stationed on in the navy, but which the interior looked like my current house. I kept seeing him peek his head out from a lampshade or from behind a tree on top of the refrigerator painted to look like my old gym locker, the fucked up thing was that when I would try to look straight at him the image would morph into a horror movie image like a vicious dog yanking out someones throat or a lashing tongue from some monster slicing someones head in two.....it wasn't frightening just irritating...
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Id rather have nightmares than good dreams.

Sometimes Ill think of someone nice I used to know, wake up, wish they were there, then be depressed all day about it.
