    Virus and Spyware Protection

What kind of virus and spyware protection do you guys use for your computer. My friend uses 'Stop Sign' virus and spyware and says it is good. It costs him about 20 dollars every three months or 50 dollars a year. I don't mind spending a little cash if the service is good. I want to hear opinions of you guys about this service.
    Please discuss.

antivirus kaspersky Is very good. It won anti virus of the year award and its easy to use.

Nod32 Is also very good, however it is a little harder to use for anti virus newbies.

All of the other anti virus softwares in my opinon are junk or atleast 99% of them.

Well, I would have to say for a free one it is the best by far.

Avast, Kaspersky are my top favorites.

I've tried: Norton, Mcaffee, Zone Alarm, Adaware, All these little ad-ware removal tools.

Also I suggest getting a registry cleaner - best one I've found is @ CleanMyPC Registry Cleaner - Official Site of CleanMyPC Registry Cleaner

I have been using Avast! for a couple years, its free and works well, picks up trojans from various shyte webpages too.

Not too super worried about spyware anymore (horrible on the internet though), but I use Adaware. Microsoft Antispyware worked pretty well when I used that as well, but if I am getting serious I use several programs, Hijack This as well as a few others - to inspect startup environment etc.

I rarely use one unless I suspect something is odd or after a session of DL'ing a bunch of torrents. I like to use msinfo32 and scan through to see if any hidden crap is in there, I also look through my registry too....it's something we were taught in the Navy and I still like to do it. I still use the easy tools but it's good to keep in practice.....I actually found a keylogger on a friends laptop that his vscan and spyware didn't find this way......
