    Paypal

Is it safe? Does anyone here use it? I'd like more information on it.

I want to buy an ebook from someone who has it and she said she will only accept paypal. I created my account just recently but i don't understand how it works. What's the difference between paying using your bank account and paying with your credit card?

I am very skeptical when it comes to buying things online so if anyone can ensure me that paypal is safe then please tell me about it.

For instance, i click on "Send money" at the top of the page and it's asking me the email of the person i am sending it to, the amount and if it's for goods, services, ebay items or cash advance. How will i know that i will receive my product after i send my money?

Paypal is the best way to pay online from what I have experienced, and they do offer their own protection...

I never hesitate to use Paypal that is all I can say

paypal is easy, fast, and safe. it's just weird that when you debit money into your account it takes 5 days to be available, and if you make a large sale when you're new they may put a hold on the money sometimes till they are assured the customer got the product. safe for buyers and sellers.

    Couple questions..

    1) When i send the money for something i want, how will i know that i'll get it because the other person could just take the money and run. How does this process work?

    2) What is the purpose of debiting money into your account when the money just comes straight out of your bank account when using a debit card to buy something?

    3) What happens if i get the wrong product after sending my money? Do i contact paypal or what?

since paypal is owned by ebay and this creates a lot of BS between the 2 companies. If your an ebay seller, paypal won't give a shit about the seller side of the story if something happens with the item. They always side with the buyer.

I can talk for days about the ebay and paypal problems i've had.

Paypal is good, but far from perfect.

    1) research the seller. two minutes on google will tell you if there are a ton of complaints.

    2) if i'm very sure of a seller i just use my debit card online like most things thru amazon.com. ticketmaster etc. paypal is more for sellers that i'm not as sure of until i establish trust with them, like buying wool from new zealand.

    3) if there's a screw up with an order i try n settle it with the seller if it's an honest mistake before risking sullying their reputation. paypal will help you if that fails. sometimes if the wrong thing is still something you might want you can get the seller to let you keep it and give you credit toward your next purchase. i haven't run into anyone dishonest yet.

Yeah, use it on ebay all the time. Never an issue.

Been using it forever, it's a good service.

I actually prefer using PayPal when shopping because it serves as a middle man. I don't care if someone hacks a database and gets my PayPal e-mail whereas if my CC # was lost it would be far worse.
