Sorry buddy but I like music where a person can carry a tune.
Not someone mumbling.
Fetus you were making a joke, right ?
Not trying to talk shiite, but that was pretty funny.![]()

Haha...It's just so funny how everybodies got to be a 'gansta'.
I guess it's an age thing, and some of that stuff is pretty vulgar. But on that note, women seem to love the beats. For some reason, when you say the nastiest, dirtiest things to a beat women seem to enjoy that language.![]()

Before that, spoonie gee...grandmaster flash.
Rappers delight was a commercial group, they weren't the "real deal"
History
This pioneering group inaugurated the recorded history of hip-hop with their single "Rapper's Delight", a multi-platinum seller and radio hit in 1980. Englewood, NJ-based producer and indie label owner Sylvia Robinson had become aware of the massive hip-hop block parties occurring around the New York City area during the late '70s, so she gathered three locals from her town of Englewood, New Jersey: Guy O'Brien, who was the original Master Gee; another local rapper, Michael Wright, who called himself Wonder Mike, and Big Bank Hank. The vocalists were then teamed up with three session musicians, including future Living Colour bassist Doug Wimbish. Together, they recorded all of the Sugarhill Gang’s work.

That was so long ago....
rappers delight wasnt the group, it was the song lol, Im sure you know that and what you said was a typo though, you actually probably know a lot more about the history of hip hop than I do, old school for me starts at about.....mid LL cool J, early Fresh Prince......
My parents didnt really let me listen to much rap, I had to sneak in tapes of Naughty By Nature to my room and play it real soft hahahah
What Would Fetus Do?
gangsta rap is only some hip hop....hip hop comes in all different types. same goes for glitsy glam bling bling shit.....That is the commercial side of things, if you dont like hip hop and dont seek other artists then that is all you will hear, which is understandable....
There is a lot of hip hop I don't understand or like at all as well...
but to me, hip hop is more about beat and feeling than substance, Im a white Iowa boy born and raised, I dont live a gangster lifestyle at all and most/to all of the lyrics don't relate to me, but that is how a lot of music is....
Rock music can be the same way, most people when they try to karaoke old rock songs dont know most of the lyrics, let alone the context of the lyrics...
To me it is about a feeling I am in, and what kind of beat I want to hear that enhances that feeling
when Im lifting I listen to real gritty and nasty hip hop, rappers talking tough because that is how I like to feel when I lift weights, like a badass about to start throwing heavy weight around lol
when Im in my car I listen to something that puts me in a zone to just drive and enjoy the day....ect ect

I hate when people just clump all rap/hiphop together with that shit that's played all over the "Kiss"/"Hot"/"Intercourse" radio.
Songs played on those stations take zero talent to make or produce. For example, womanizer by Britney Spears is not only the most annoying song I've ever heard, but it just proves that while she may be a good dancer, she's as dumb, untalented and clueless as the media portrays her to be.
Prolyphic & Reanimator came out with a cd this past year that I think is the album of the year (in any genre). My favorite song:
YouTube Video
Also, I'm really disappointed with Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre.
Guys who mastered their profession and decided to adapt to "what sells" by producing club playing pure suck.
Kanye West for example, while he adapted to the new sound of hip hop, he was able to put his own stamp on it and came up with an incredible album.
/end rant
Min0 if there is a shred of you that can still listen to old school hip hop....then for newer groups I could recommend you something like this
This song is as far as they stray from old school 'feel good' music, but I still love it....
and even in that song they say "We're not ballin, or shot callin, we take it back to the days of what's golden..."
Ill find more
