My intention is not to shit on the thread, but I thought the entire F&F series of movies sucked. The stories are dumb with no dept, and the characters sucked, too.

They try to make up for it with eye candy: fast cars and hot women.

Thats more or less accurate.

However...

Being 16-29 years old, Ive always drag raced. I was into fast cars before I was into working out actually, so this is true to heart with me.

The first movie, as ridiculous as some parts and technical details were, emulated the drag racing feeling. Even though the first race is supposed to be 10 sec long (but filmed for much longer), it tried to capture the excitement of going from 0-130mph in seconds and whats at stake to do so.

BUT!

They lost it. They kept the cars and made them WORSE. Kept the same acting talent and made it WORSE. Kept the plot and made it WORSE. Now, none of these are top notch. I cant believe a newer style eclipse was used for the 2nd movie. And I cant believe they dropped the best thing...drag racing. Now they went into road racing...even drifting! Thats dumb. Ask Nick Hogan.

Teenagers are going to see these movies and mimic them. Dangerous or not, id rather have teens drag racing than road racing or fucking drifting. Not the best idea, but I lived.

Anyway, besides the car bullshit that it shit out of these 20+ year old actors (no teens) that is unbelievably inaccurate, they had their best shot in the first movie. Rx-7, 90s eclipse, supra, lightning, charger, these arent slouch cars. Dont even get me started on the other cars in the other movies.

So...will the next movie take a page out of the first movie's book? Or will in be a whole new book of bullshit altogether?

Ill be honest, I actually liked the first movie

I own it on dvd, not sure if I can watch it the same way as I did when it came out, but probably....

the second and third were a bit ridiculous, but even more than the movies being ridiculous was the culture it showed and the douche baggery of it lmao, then it sparked it and made it worse...

People dressing up their cars with all kinds of bullshit accessories....

but with that being said, some of those cars really were bad ass in the movie, it is the people behind the cars that are usually retarded lol, and the movie is cheesy as all hell but so was Saved By The Bell, and I love that show hahahah

btw Gone in 60 seconds was a better car movie in my opinion....

The first was good. Fresh idea. Good action. I don't think they were trying to make an oscar worthy movie there. Just a great popcorn summer flick.

The other 2 sucked. The new one doesn't look as good either based on the trailer. Super fake action sequences and corny one liners.

I do love the way it looks though. absolutely beautiful car.

I cant imagine them providing you a launch control option and when you use it it voids out your warranty

thats the fucking problem with hollywood these days. those fuckers can't come up with an original idea often enough so if they just put out another sequel. the worst fucking thing that happened to those guys was the success of the back to the future franchise. we would have been fine if that bastard marty mcfly would have stayed in one movie. he makes a killing with a time traveling train in back to the future 3 and all hell breaks loose for sequels and trilogies.

the only trilogies ever should have been star wars (the original) and indiana jones. then stop. even adding to those franchises sucked things up
