This dude receives millions from the very people he is going to be regulating, but since he was not registered as a lobbyist at the time there is no conflict of interest?

Ya know, anything is better than Bush, but if things like this keep popping up, I may regret not voting for McCain. At least you know what you were getting. Well, that's not true, the religious right is far worse than this, IMO, but still, you ran your whole campaign on not running business as usual and now you are running it exactly the same way.

- We don't all get to have all things. I have been given more than most, not as much as others.
I enjoy the gifts that I have, I share what I can, and try not to begrudge others for having things that I don't have.
Why don't you go take a look at campaign donations by AIG, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, etc. Go see who comes out at or near the top.
and how about this one:
Washington Times - GOP wants probe into AIG donation

I think it was you who said "Because Bush did it, doesn't make what Obama is doing right". Well, you are right about that. That is a childish mentality of "well Johnny did it too, so I shouldn't get in trouble." I agree a 100% with the sentiment.
However, many people on this board raised hell for years over the painfully obvious connections of Chaney and Bush to war, Haliburton, oil, lucrative government contracts for rebuilding, and the obscene profits of Haliburton. And for years you republicans denied it.
Now Obama is doing the same shit under a new threat. Before it was terrorism. Now it is economic doom. Politicians are going to find ways to pay back the people that got them where they are. I'll be the first here to say what Obama is doing is pissing me off.
This thing is a slap in the face, but I still like Obama's policies better than anything the republicans have done in the recent 8 years.
As a non partisan person, I'll advise you republicans to do some soul searching and come with a a candidate that is worth a shit for 2012. At the current rate, Obama will fall out of favor with me by then if he doesn't get his shit together.

what policies of the Messiahs do you like KelJu?
whoa there big'un, you don't know me from Tom's house cat. I asked you a simple question and you can only respond by insulting me.
HA, that is all I ever need to know about you, for some reason I thought you were a good guy from other post I read on this board now I know better.
Obama has already stepped on my toes in a terrible way (won't go into details), but at the same time I also already benefited from some of his policies.
I have to say I like the dude, and he's already brought back some sense of prestige and respectability back to the White House. I approve of his strategy of investing heavily into science, technology, healthcare, and infrastructure, and education.
I also understand that he had to make a deal with the Republicans to keep the war effort going in Afghanistan. That was the price he had to pay for withdrawing from Iraq.

I assumed you were looking for an argument since you started off with a loaded question calling the president a Muslim. If you meant it is humor or fun, I apologize. I have heard a lot of people claim Obama to be a Muslim and they truly believe it.
What I like about Obama's policies:
More funding for science.
More funding for alternitive energy.
Better environmental policies.
Better foreign policies.
Better educational policies.
Net neutrality policies.
And the biggy for me hits at home. The electronic Medical Records act is currently providing me with a nice job and tons of room for growth. It may be a little selfish, but havign a nice job helps my opinion of him.
There is a ton of shit about Obama that I don't like, but I will always be vocal about it.

Consume more alcohol. You'll care less.
I don't think I could care less. I am in Gods hands, presidents come and go. We made it through Carter, we'll make it through Zero too!
I make it no secret that I do not like the current President but I don't care enough to argue about it with anyone.

It would be hard to find an economic advisor who doesn't have ties to the financial industry. All politicians have stock portfolios. People were saying Warren Buffet would be a great economic advisor but christ, he's the biggest hedge fund manager in the U.S. I don't see anything wrong with Goldman Sachs paying for his speeches. That's what he does for a living and he was providing a service.
The banking industry knows that they need to be regulated. If they don't fix their flaws, they won't have long term stability and one banks decisions could very easily bring down another bank.

Can someone give me the short version? Is this new president a shithead or...what?

Pay back.....it happens in ALL politics. All this bailout crap is payback. It's not helping the economy, wasn't meant to. I am surprised to hear so many saying Obama is pissing them off. Thought it take longer than this. But I and others basically said that he was not what he pretended to be. No politician is. We did need a change.....Agreed, but I don't think Obama was it. Until we get ALL of Congress out of office and start fresh, nothing will change. I just wonder if mainstream America and all working class people will ever realize is.
