I just contacted your state IRS office, they told me to tell you not to bother with filing your taxes, they will make an exception just for you.

you cannot file an extension now they're past due, but if you did not owe there should not be any penalties.

they're not going to fine you because you didn't claim money, they like that. if you make under a certain amount you're not even obligated to file but you should to get a return.
Single taxpayers. If you expect to file a single return, the IRS requires you to file a return for 2009 if your gross income for the year is at least:
$9,350 if you are under age 65. $10,750 if you are at least age 65.

I have not filed in many years.

I don't know the answer to your question. And more importantly, I don't care.

i don't, it might be a lot more but i help Tesla's friends with their taxes. a lot don't owe anything but can still get what is to them a significant return. a lot of late teens early 20's living at home don't make much yet and employers make it hard by wanting to give kids so few hours to avoid paying any benefits. but no, i really don't know his circumstance but the irs isn't going to do a big sting on him and hand him a check because he didn't file if they owe him and not vice versa.

I'll just say we gotta thing if you know what I mean

I had to file, i made around 17k. I've already gotten one refund though. I had to make an amendment so now they owe me about $400 and MS owes me 50. I might make a membership upgrade with that.

Hell i've already made 3/4 of what i made last year working part-time. God bless our military and a half-ass education.

I filed an amendment before April 1st to account for my new home purchase. I'm still waiting to get that money. They told me it can take 8+ weeks to get back to me with an amended return. It took maybe a week to get my money from my original return (electronically filed in February) and should only take 4 weeks to get your return if filed by mail, but for some reason it takes more than twice as long to process an amended form (it just makes no logical sense to me).

on the forms it said anywhere from 8-12 weeks ~ 10-40X form

It doesn't really make any sense to not have a direct deposit option. Since it's going to be a check I'm just gonna assume 12 weeks.
