I might be moving to Canada at the end of this year for a possible career opportunity. I've been doing a bit of research, and it seems that it is next to impossible to legally defend yourself in Canada. Guns are obviously outlawed, but I noticed that you can't even carry mace and pepper spray at all. Other various concealed weapons like batons also appear to be ruled out. I think some pocket knives might be allowed but again, seems like a huge risk if i ended up having to stab someone in defense.

I'm interested to hear how our Canadian's defend themselves, what do you carry around on you? Have you ever found yourself in a sticky situation?

many girls I know carry pepper spray in their purse. and I don't know what type of pocket knife you want, but many people carry them, too.

but I've lived in Canada all 23 years of my life and haven't had to defend myself once - ever. It's a grand thing, really.

I was going to visit Canada as I was planning joining aviation & decided to join Canada based aviation school, but had to drop it as I flunked the medical tests cos of migraine, ptosis (left eye) & tinnitus....
