Thread: Microsoft Forefront Client Security

this is the perfect place to engauge software gurus

actually my background is IT, 13 years of professional experience!

the only time I used MS Forefront was on a couple of new Windows SBS 2008 servers I installed, MS Forefront came with a 4 month free trial...it seemed okay.

But is it worth it?

Can the client component be used as stand alone if there is no server OS?

can't really say, its too new, I am sure there has been testing and comparisons done online that included this product.

As far as the original topic goes, Forefront is probably good enough, but why pay for something you can do better for free.

But if its free to you and it won't expire, use it. What exactly are you doing that you feel you would need it?

What does it do? Never heard of it. Probably unnecessary security software I'm betting

It was Arse Itch...I forgot all about him.

Nothing out of the ordinary, just casual internet surfing. It was free and I have a life time of updates, which may have been free anyway. I'm a virus magnet.

ROID, I just checked "Microsoft Forefront Client Security" but it does not mention that it's free. It's a evaluation version (@ MS site).
