Absolutely ridiculous. Homeowners can't pay, banks unwilling to budge.

Why should a judge decide to redo a loan on people that don't pay? The ones that do pay will be left paying that bill. Not right IMO.

How will anyone else pay? The cost would be the same, it's just the term of the loan would be modified, if I am correct. So, instead of paying over 30 yrs they pay over 35 or whatever. I don't see how someone else would foot the bill anyway, they are getting bailout money regardless, this would just require them to participate in loan modification. If anything, not modifying them is just going to make problems worse, I guarantee. It's simple enough to file for bankruptcy, and in that instance, the banks are fucked 10x worse. This is coming from someone who thinks it is both the banks and the idiots who took out the loans fault. The only reason they don't want to modify these loans is because the gov't is giving handouts, so they don't need to.

Its not a matter of them not paying, its a matter of restructuring their loan so they can pay. This isn't some fuck free handouts type shit we are talking about.
