okay, not important but i needed to draw some more people in to answer my questions
1) Where can i buy a copy of "Bloodsport" on DVD that is cheap and in good condition. I want to purchase it online at a reputable website that has good security and not somewhere from like ebay.
2) On the 50 inch HDTV i have (Panasonic), there's a button on the remote that says "Video/Input" and when I press it it has a list..
TV
Component 1
Component 2
HDMI
etc...
The Closed Captioning (CC) feature works on TV but when i want to watch a game or a TV show in High Def, i have to use the HDMI function BUT the CC does not work. I have tried several options such as CC1, CC2, T1, etc... and none seem to work. Does anyone know how i can get it to work on HDTV?

you don't get what you wish for ~ you get what you work for

Further complicating things, people are now discovering that if an HDTV set is hooked to the cable box through a connection called HDMI, captions won't be displayed at all.
there's a lot of info there not sure it will solve it.

A)Rent the movie and make a copy.....
B)I only watch movies in HD so I don't know what to say for that issue short of calling tech support and complaining that the Deaf and hard of hearing should be able to enjoy HD especially since the visual part is the most important for them.... This could be your cause, something to fight for

It's not that big of a deal to me but I would like to watch movies in HD with CC.
I don't understand though because my friend who lives in upstate NY has Time Warner Cable with roadrunner and CC works on all HD channels. Even at sports bars, i see a few TV's with CC working in HD so it doesn't make sense.

From Ldubs link it sounds like it all comes down to cable box and resolution......call your provider and see if they have a HD/CC friendly box.....
"While most older analog sets provide captions with the touch of a remote control button or via a simple on-screen menu, it's more complicated to get closed captioning on the newest digital TVs that get their signal through cable and satellite boxes rather than antennas. That's because the signal is processed by the box and the caption settings must be matched to the resolution of the TV display."
