    So what's the best way to sterilze re-usable equipment like beakers and what not?

    I am no expert but im sore boiling water is your best bet.

    As long as it is glassware, seal the openings with aluminum foil and bake in the oven on a cookie sheet/baking pan at 340 degrees for one hour. It's called the "Dry Heat" method and is recommended by the EPA.

    There are some bacteria that are resistant to boiling, so that is not the best option.
