Completely unrelated to the other one, holy crap. I guess they are not testing enough.

the porn industry here tests pretty often. main problem is when the "actors/actresses" go to brazil (and probably other places but this is the one i hear about most) and work with people there where they don't test as often (if at all?). then they come back here infected and spreading it before they come up positive on their next test.

Well in Brazil very often they don't use condoms. Which was the case with Darren James.

Remember Marc Wallace? In the mid 90's he got Hiv or Aids & had ppl fake his blood tests for him so he could still shoot. He has been in jail & still is in jail now.

Also the great horse hung John Curtis. Holmes. He died from Aids he contracted by Heroin use by sharing needles. Around the year he died before he become much sicker he was banned from shooting films in the United States. So he took it apon himself to go to Italy & shot an Italian movie with Ciccolina the Roman Empress & was in a scene with her & Amber Lynn I believe. I have the movie on CD. I know that Ciccolina got Hiv &/or Aids from John, but I'm not sure about Amber Lynn.

Why would someone knowing that they have Aids or even HIV, not tell anyone & continue having unprotected sex & shooting movies is beyond me? I guess they love the business too much.

they hardly ever use condoms in US porn either.

The US Porn I noticed that as well. The main types of movies that do use condoms are the porn movies usually on pay-per-view with ppl like Jenna Jameson or Jill Kelly or Jewel De Nyle, Peter North, Vince Voyeur etc....

Most Vivid stuff is all with condoms now.

i'm not familiar w/those movies but i do know that for the most part the official ("politically correct") industry policy is that it's up to the individuals in the scene(s) BUT in reality the actors/actresses know they won't be getting work if they decide they want to insist on using them.

vivid is kinda "top shelf/mainstream porn". heatwave and anabolic both come to mind as big companies that aren't using them very much.

hey Var, I was just about to go back and edit and add "not that i watch porn" the way you did.

long story - i know lots of people in the industry. i live in the San Fernando Valley where nearly all of these companies are located.

Can't it take up to 6 months for HIV to show up on a test once infected? That would pretty much make a 30 day quarantine useless.

No kidding. I heard it will be 6 months now that the LA porno scene will be closed for testing.

I guess they will test now & every month or something.

Do you think any of these ppl get nasty STD's as well? I'm sure they do, but you don't hear about STD's very often.

I also hope this dely won't interfear with the production of Buttman movies by John Stagliano.

actually new testing methods can detect the HIV antibody in just days...

interesting Lam ... would that mean that they would be able to treat the disease knowing about it sooner?
