NOT to be putting you or anyone else down on this - but just how observant are we all in this "modern world"?

I own my own farm and I see things everyday. Nothing shocks me. This - with the cat - did not surprise me. I've seen it before - so what. No biggie for me. Natural, YEP, it certainly IS. "A normal occurance" - yep! How many times have you seen a dog humping anything for example? Are you trying to have me believe that what that cat did is somehow "UNnatural"? Not so.

You have to UNDERSTAND the WHY. That IS the key to knowing. I own my own farm. Doing so teaches you a lot you would not "normally" know about.

So now I guess the "moralists" and the "religious zealots" will want to take that cat and "baptize" it so it will no longer have "original sin" and have it go "to confession" for "sinning"... BULL!!!! The cat DID what came NATURALLY!!! And probably LIKED DOING IT... SO WHAT!!!!

As for some animal mothers eating their young - you have to STUDY life and living in all things. There ARE reasons for everything that happens. You or I may not always "know" or "understand" but then that is why it IS SO VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE AN OPEN MIND AND CONSIDER ALL THINGS ALL THE TIME FROM ALL PERSPECTIVES AND ALL SOURCES. That IS how we truly and accurately LEARN. EVEN - and especially - about God!!

Are you an "animal" and know yourself for sure? Obviously the cat "in question" LIKED what is was doing, can you deny that? Can you tell me with CERTAINTY that that cat was "just" grooming itself? Maybe it was a very smart cat and LEARNED this "method of cleaning" itself has MORE benefits that just "being clean"? Cats ARE SMART you know... How many Male dogs have you seen "at work"?

There is a lot human beings that DO NOT UNDERSTAND - or know - trust me! Animals are NOT as "stupid" as human beings like to "think" they are...

I do know the "why," John. I'm not saying it's wrong for animal mothers eating their young; instead, I'm saying that example is a case where it would be wrong for us to emulate animals. Therefore, saying that what animals do is natural (which it is) and therefore must be right because natural=right is completely false.

Second, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a religioius person, even a zealot, who would actually want to baptize a cat. Give me a break. Certainly there are some who would think masturbation is sinful, and they are entitled to their opinion, as we are to ours.

Hum, lemme answer ur first question: I am somewhat educated on the subject having worked as a volunteer for numerous canadian and international animal organizations(on everything from kitty cats to alligators) for the past 7 years! I know I know, u own a farm....So then u must know that when animals(for the most part, as dolphins have been proven to experience sexual pleasure and have sex for that purpose under certain conditions) engage in sexual activities, they are led and guided by their instincts to procreate. Noone said this pet was being stupid...It is however senseless to compare human intelligence to animal's "reactive" intelligence.
To sorta turn this thing around, how do u KNOW (caps I added for emphasis) that this cat enjoyed what it was doing? The look on its face?? the fact that it was licking itself at the same time?? See where Im going with this??

I simply felt that u were overANALizing this thing...

Clearly, I don't think the cat will go to hell. Maybe you should read my response again if you didn't understand it the first time.

Second, in my humble opinion, someone who defends against anything anyone else says, never admits to being wrong, and ends lots of their statements with "TRUST ME!!!!" has a pretty closed mind. Perhaps you don't have a closed mind, but it appears quite often that you do.

I don't understand why I have to sit down and understand that a cat is masturbating and the reasons for it. In fact, the cat is masturbating because of sheer hornyness, no more, no less. Chief, I don't own a farm, I work 10 hours a day in my own business, I get home and play with my children, watch the news and go to sleep. I usually find time to read a book or just shoot some hoops outside of my house. I also find time to work out. Why should I try to open my mind and think about why a cat masturbates, and why that makes religion bad? You are crusading, and like I said, you are worse than the "religious freaks" because you simply try to hammer things into the heads of people who really don't give a shit...Sorry, but that's how I feel...
If I owned a farm, surely I would try to analize those things. Why? because that would be my line of work and I would need to know those things. What I do over-analyze is why a life sustaining ventilator needs to continue at a certain power stream to keep a patient from dying and how I can make it so that a child is comfortable in his last seconds of life. That's what I need to over-analyze. Lives are at stake if I don't over-analyze those things...

John did you ever think that the fact that nothing ever shocks you could be a problem. have you become so desensitized to everything that the truely shocking things out there no longer have an effect on you. thats kind of sad if its true. Im not saying i was shocked by the cat pawing at itself, i wasnt, but the fact that some one immediatly thought they should grab a camera and share this moment with others was suprising to me. and when i was a kid i tried to baptize cats all the time. mostly i just threw them in the river, but i thought it was fun. take the advice of the people on this thread. dont use every post to fit your "alternative lifestyle agenda", relaxe about the religious right, and just generally remember this is a bodybuilding forum. your not going to change the world telling bodybuilders its ok to be gay. because most of us really dont care what you do as long as you keep it out of our face. have fun on your farm though.
