The All Star game isn't just about your current numbers, there are players who've had a good career and never get to start or even play in an Allstar game, this is a good way to say thanks for a good, great career.
In 1972 and 1973 Willie Mays batted .267 and .211 respectably That was in a NY Met uniform, as a Met fan I was so proud. I'm sure those numbers don't fit in with your Epstein baseball mind but the All Star game does not mean anything, it's for the kids, the fans.....it's a game about All Stars, don't mean shit in the standings. |
