Another impressive performance by Diaz. Once again like most, I underestimated his striking prowess. It just doesn't look like he's hitting hard but Marius was hurt on a few occasions in that first round, and Diaz sealed the deal.
I thought the rest of the event was shit though. The Lashley fight was a joke and Lawler was getting absolutely handled until he landed that haymaker. Melvin is such an animal but his jaw has failed him on a few occasions and his ground game is non-existent. Walker looked ripped, but he also looked like a man with shot legs. Absolutely no footwork or lateral movement. I think wrestling is the only thing he can really do at this point, which won't get him far at all. I will say that it's refreshing to see an event other than UFC or WEC for a change but other than that it was garbage.
From what I see, Diaz needs to come back to the UFC. I think he's 10x's the fighter he was during his prior stint and I think he's a serious threat to all of the top guys. Maybe not GSP, but he's certainly capable of making a run towards a shot at him.
