    Nick Diaz vs. Marius Zaromskis

    Marius Highlight

    Nick Highlight

This is part of Strikeforce's next event and is really the only fight I care for that night. I am not interested seeing a roided out woman fight, I dont care for a WWE fighter fighting a joke, and I dont care about a old NFL guy trying to make a splash.

This is your classic striker vs. grappler match. Feel free to go on YouTube and find more highlights.

I forgot about Lawler too, but hes Hughes friend, so fuck him.

Marius is kind of a nobody. Nick is pretty known. Mostly for his shit talking. It makes me want to bet against him, but hes a sub artist. His striking is oddly effective. I dont know though, he is the only guy I see punching accurately and softly, but it never turns out soft.

Marius on the other hand hits hard and you know it. However, thats all hes got. The fact that he came out where an Akuma outfit got my attention..

Hughes was just a wrestler that figured out subs. He wasnt a total package so I dont find him good really. Being a complete fucking asshole on top of it doesnt help.

Thats what A Black Guy said about Nicks striking. With his frustrating arms, I dont know if Marius will keep his cool. Really, I dont know much about him, but I like seeing the Diaz brothers lose. Its weird. They make great villains...as long as they talk shit. But I want them to lose and get beat badly.

I wouldn't call this a classic striker vs. grappler at all.

In Diaz's last 5 wins, he won 4 by TKO. He has legitimate skills on the ground, but he is also very skilled on his feet, especially his accuracy and combination punching.

I think Diaz will stand with Marius. Diaz may take it to the ground if the opportunity is right on front of him. Other than that I don't see him attempting too many take downs. He isn't one of those guys who, when he gets hurt, tries to take it to the mat out of fear of getting stopped.

MMmmmm I dont know. Marius and those kicks. Kicks are perfect invitations for takedowns. Perhaps Marius will expect that and NOT throw many.

He definitely has some nice striking, but he's never faced someone the caliber of a Nick Diaz. He beat an ancient Sakurai and the next biggest name on his resume is Ross Pointon of all people. I think he's got a puncher's chance for sure, but he's never fought someone as well rounded and well conditioned as Diaz. I think Nick will put a pace on him he's never seen before and end up catching him with some sort of submission. Should be very entertaining though.

i doubt he ll add to his 3 fight head kick finish streak but mark my words Marius for the win.

I don't know man.. He's explosive, but he's fought nothing but tomato cans. The first time he over commits to one of those big strikes, Nick will have him on his back. I'm not saying he can't win, but I think the betting line is accurate with Diaz @ -260. Highly unlikely he KO's Nick, which he'll more than likely need to do in order to win.

The odds are what prompted me to bet on him. I wont lose much as long as I am ok with losing $50.

Its one of those fights where if it goes against what I had hoped for, I dont care cuz I know the odds.

Another impressive performance by Diaz. Once again like most, I underestimated his striking prowess. It just doesn't look like he's hitting hard but Marius was hurt on a few occasions in that first round, and Diaz sealed the deal.

I thought the rest of the event was shit though. The Lashley fight was a joke and Lawler was getting absolutely handled until he landed that haymaker. Melvin is such an animal but his jaw has failed him on a few occasions and his ground game is non-existent. Walker looked ripped, but he also looked like a man with shot legs. Absolutely no footwork or lateral movement. I think wrestling is the only thing he can really do at this point, which won't get him far at all. I will say that it's refreshing to see an event other than UFC or WEC for a change but other than that it was garbage.

From what I see, Diaz needs to come back to the UFC. I think he's 10x's the fighter he was during his prior stint and I think he's a serious threat to all of the top guys. Maybe not GSP, but he's certainly capable of making a run towards a shot at him.
