That is the definition of bad-ass.
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

Huh...and she didn't talk about it non-stop and hold press conferences to tell us all she was hurt prior to competing like Lindsey Vonn did?

Not sure I would have done what she did considering another fall could have killed her but apparently she didn't know how broke she was until after.

Everyone going to the Olympics has a story why they want to win. It's the one's like these, the "non-grand-standers" that show who the true hero's are and what the Olympics is really about.

This should be a media headline and an inspiration to all.

I know the Winter Olympics aren't a big story down in the US.

But these games were very captivating and the constant display of Canadian pride and the party atmosphere we presented were great.

Very proud of the all the Canadian athletes. Who hauled in a record 14 gold medals, most ever by any country in a Winter Olympics

Good job, Canada! Most Americans (the ones who care about the Olympics, anyway) think you did a great job hosting and competing, and we're happy for you in both respects.

    Thanks IAB -

Ian, I know right? Isn't it just nuts? I'm in Ottawa right now and the place is electric! Vancouver was INSANE last night; hubby went out and took pictures and the streets downtown were PACKED!

Everywhere is insane with Canadian Pride it is contagious.

People driving around with the Canadian flags flying and horns honking. Bars packed. It was a great event. Dawning my Canadian Jersey today with pride

Canada deserves a lot of respect for what the country and it's athletes pulled off for the Olympics. Well done

So I listen to a lot of sports radio and watch a lot of that shit on TV (hey I am a sports mod for a reason). The universal opinion is one of "Bummer we lost that hockey gold, but way to go, Canada!" No one is upset that Canada one...unlike if USA lost to those Russian commies.

I've got to admit, I've only been a very passive hockey fan, but after these Olympics I can see myself following it a bit more regularly. seeing a bunch of these NHL guys represent their countries was pretty damn cool.

Can't say we would share the same opinion as Canadians. lol

That said USA hockey is very strong, as much as the USA media plays them to be some big underdog, they are far from it. And it is only going to get stronger.

If you look at past history, the US has not been very good at any winter Olympics. They are just now starting to compete and you can tell that by the medal count. I think you will see the US do better in the future winter olympics. Money, training and interest is now being poured into these events.

When I watched the gold medal game, it was like watching family. It was hard to pull for one over the other. You see all these players in the NHL. Sometimes you forget where they come from. If we had to loose, I'm glad it was Canada also. But I don't like how the playoffs are done. The US breezed thru beating everyone only to face Canada again. I knew it would be tough to beat them twice.
