    Wow, I just heard about the news.
    He was one of a kind....he really cared about his team and at times did more harm than good but it was always about fielding the best team out there and it wasn't about how was he making in profits, he made it regardless. Most GM's pocket the money he didn't.

    Every fan base wishes their team's owner tried as hard and cared as much as Steinbrenner.

    He was difficult to take at times, but you can't argue with his devotion to the Yankees and to winning. Remarkable figure in baseball history. Tough week for Yankee fans.
